Together, we are on fire to inspire and collectively strive to make a true impact in the lives of others. Collectively, our organizational core values are focused on promoting an incredible work environment, with genuine and authentic people, which is both challenging and fun, while focused on serving the needs of others. With a forward-thinking mentality and an energizing spirit, together we find fun in every challenge.
Creating an Incredible Work Environment:
StrataTech Education Group and our schools, Tulsa Welding School, and The Refrigeration School Inc, exist to change people's lives and create opportunities that empower them to build a life they're proud of - for themselves, their families, and their communities. This applies as much to students as it does to faculty and staff. We are unified in our commitment to change lives through a collaborative, inclusive community that encourages excellence within each and every one of us.
We value diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), recognizing the importance of creating a culture that embraces and celebrates individuals from all backgrounds and perspectives. This commitment further strengthens our mission to change lives and build a vibrant community.

We hire genuine people and encourage them to bring their whole selves to work or the classroom every day. We have built a culture of kindness and support that helps people feel comfortable being themselves, confident about what they contribute, championed in taking risks or trying new things, and joyful about showing up.
Force for Good:
StrataTech is a force for good in the world by creating opportunities for people to find meaning, purpose, creativity, and financial stability. We espouse a conscious capitalist ethos that exists within our economic system but balances it with an ethical framework and the belief that life-and business-is about making a positive impact.
We strive to make a positive and sustainable impact on the lives and communities (and world) we serve by creating employment opportunities both internally and in the trades that we train students for. Everyone has the potential to positively impact the world and we communicate that to our faculty, staff, and students.
We are laser focused on student success by focusing on organizational and operational improvements, a dedication to excellence in training programs, innovation and technology aligning industry transformations, and a culture built on human compassion, care, and service. Together, we are on fire to inspire and collectively strive to make a true impact in the lives of others.
Position Summary:
StrataTech Education Group is seeking a skilled Web Developer to own the design, development, and continuous optimization of our web properties in support of student recruitment across our skilled-trades schools. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing Operations, this role builds fast, reliable, conversion-focused websites on WordPress and ensures those properties are engineered from the ground up for discoverability across both traditional search engines and emerging AI-driven search experiences.
The ideal candidate is a WordPress expert who treats technical SEO and AI Optimization (AIO) as foundational disciplines rather than afterthoughts, and who understands how modern search, including Google AI Overviews and generative/LLM answer engines, discovers, interprets, and surfaces web content. This is a high-impact, individual-contributor role central to how prospective students find and engage with our schools online.
RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
WordPress Development & Site Management
  • Build, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, themes, plugins, and templates, writing clean, well-documented code (PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Develop and optimize conversion-focused landing pages and lead-capture experiences in partnership with marketing and admissions.
  • Manage site performance, uptime, security, updates, and backups across all web properties; troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.
  • Implement responsive, accessible, and cross-browser-compatible design that renders reliably across devices.

Technical SEO
  • Own technical SEO across all web properties; site architecture, crawlability, indexation, canonicalization, redirects, and XML sitemaps.
  • Optimize Core Web Vitals and page-speed performance; diagnose and resolve technical issues that impede rankings.
  • Implement and maintain structured data / schema markup to enhance eligibility for rich results.
  • Partner with content and marketing teams on on-page optimization, internal linking, and information architecture.

AI Optimization (AIO)
  • Optimize web properties for AI-driven and generative search surfaces, including Google AI Overviews and LLM-based answer engines (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini).
  • Structure content, entities, and markup to maximize accurate representation and citation within AI-generated answers.
  • Monitor AI search visibility and citation share, and translate findings into an ongoing optimization roadmap.
  • Stay current on the rapidly evolving generative-search landscape and proactively adapt strategy.

Analytics, Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Implement and maintain analytics, tag management, and conversion tracking (e.g., GA4, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console).
  • Use data and A/B testing to continuously improve site performance, usability, and conversion rates.
  • Collaborate with marketing, admissions, IT, and external agency partners to deliver web initiatives on time.
  • Document technical processes, standards, and site configurations.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in web development, computer science, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on web development experience with deep, demonstrable WordPress expertise (themes, plugins, and custom development).
  • Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, with experience building responsive, accessible websites.
  • Demonstrated ownership of technical SEO, including site architecture, Core Web Vitals, structured data/schema, and Search Console diagnostics.
  • Working knowledge of AI Optimization (AIO) / generative search optimization and how AI Overviews and LLM answer engines surface content.
  • Experience with analytics and tracking tools such as GA4, Google Tag Manager, and Google Search Console.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative marketing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate marketing goals into technical execution.

Physical Environment:
  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones and other office equipment
  • Stooping, bending twisting, and reaching may be required
  • Some work may be completed in classroom or shop environment
