Senior Web Designer (Drupal Content Migration)

Location: Madison, WI
Duration: 6 Months with possibility of extensions

 

Position Overview

IRG Clients is is seeking an experienced Senior Web Designer/Drupal Developer  to serve as the primary resource for migrating and converting existing external web content into the agency’s new Drupal-based web platform. This role will play a critical part in modernizing agency’s web presence by leading content migration efforts, collaborating with business stakeholders, and ensuring a seamless transition to Drupal while maintaining high standards for usability and user experience.

The ideal candidate will have extensive Drupal experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with aggressive project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the migration and conversion of existing external web pages into the Drupal content management system.
  • Analyze current website content and structure to ensure accurate and effective migration.
  • Collaborate with agency stakeholders to gather, review, and validate website content.
  • Apply web content best practices to improve usability, accessibility, and overall user experience.
  • Ensure content consistency, quality, and compliance with agency standards.
  • Work independently to meet project milestones and delivery deadlines.
  • Participate in meetings, status updates, and project planning activities as required.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working with Drupal, specifically focused on content migration and web page conversion projects.
  • 5+ years of professional communication and stakeholder collaboration experience, including working directly with business users and agency personnel.
  • 5+ years of experience working independently under tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities and deliverables.
  • Strong understanding of website content architecture and content management best practices.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and migrate large volumes of web content efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with User Experience (UX) design principles and web content organization strategies that improve navigation and user engagement.
  • Previous experience working within a large government agency, public sector organization, or enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge of website accessibility standards and digital content best practices.
