Job description

We are Siemens
Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our software.
Simcenter X is a secure, cloud-based platform that brings together advanced simulation, data analytics, and high-performance computing. It enables engineers to access capabilities such as remote visualization, GPU-based computing, design optimization, and data analytics through a unified cloud environment.
Join a team dedicated to bringing AI-driven simulation solutions to the Simcenter X platform.
As a Web AI Software Engineer, you will help transform existing desktop-based simulation and AI capabilities into scalable, cloud-native applications. You will work across the application, AI/simulation, and cloud technology stack to integrate, modernize, and productionize engineering solutions that can be accessed by users anywhere.
This role is ideal for a software engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working across technology boundaries, learning new technologies, and building products from proof of concept through production.
Key Responsibilities
  • Build end-to-end capabilities: Design, implement, test, and deliver scalable software features across the application and cloud stack, taking ownership from technical design through production.
  • Cloud-enable AI and simulation: Integrate existing AI and simulation capabilities into cloud-based workflows, transforming desktop-oriented solutions into reliable and scalable cloud-native applications.
  • Solve complex technical problems: Work across application, AI/simulation, data, and cloud technologies to identify challenges, evaluate alternatives, and develop robust solutions.
  • Develop and productionize prototypes: Build proof-of-concept solutions using emerging cloud, web, AI, and platform technologies, and help evolve successful concepts into production-ready capabilities.
  • Build scalable platform components: Develop services and components that leverage modern cloud architecture, APIs, containers, orchestration, and real-time communication technologies.
  • Collaborate across disciplines: Work closely with AI/ML engineers, simulation experts, product teams, and software engineers to translate complex engineering requirements into practical software solutions.
  • Continuously learn and innovate: Stay curious about emerging technologies and rapidly develop the technical knowledge required to solve new problems and improve the platform.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong understanding of software engineering principles and the ability to develop production-quality applications.
  • Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming, and software design, with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, with experience developing scalable software applications and/or services.
  • Hands-on experience designing and developing cloud-native applications, with an understanding of modern cloud architecture and distributed systems.
  • Practical experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes, and familiarity with deploying and operating cloud-based applications.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across AI, simulation, product, and software engineering teams and clearly communicate technical concepts.

Preferred Experience
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React, with experience contributing to full-stack web applications.
  • Experience with C++, Java, or Golang, particularly when integrating existing engineering or simulation software.
  • Experience with WebSockets or other real-time communication technologies.
  • Familiarity with CAE/CAD data, engineering workflows, or simulation software.
  • Experience working with AI/ML applications or AI-enabled software products.
  • Experience with graph databases and graph-based data models.
