The UX Designer at Holland America Line (HAL) is responsible for creating responsive, guest-centric digital experiences across HAL's web properties. This role involves designing user interfaces, developing wireframes and prototypes, and contributing to the evolution of the Design System and web standards. The UX Designer will work closely with UX research, analytics, A/B testing teams, marketing, and front-end developers to optimize the guest experience and support business objectives. The position focuses on delivering intuitive, accessible, and visually consistent designs across desktop, mobile, and tablet platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools, along with a solid understanding of user experience principles and information architecture. They will also demonstrate the ability to translate business requirements into effective design solutions while managing multiple projects.   • UX/UI Design & Execution: Develops end-to-end design solutions that translate complex requirements into intuitive, high-quality digital interfaces. Produces wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and final visual designs to support new features and enhancements. Ensures all deliverables meet usability, accessibility, and responsiveness standards across devices and platforms. Applies structured design methodologies to balance user needs with business objectives and technical constraints. Reviews and refines design outputs to ensure clarity, scalability, and implementation readiness. Delivers work within defined timelines while maintaining a high level of design quality and attention to detail.

  • Design Systems & Standards: Builds and evolves scalable design frameworks that enable consistency across digital experiences. Creates and maintains reusable components, templates, and pattern libraries to support efficient design and development workflows. Documents standards and specifications to ensure alignment across teams and platforms. Ensures adherence to established visual and interaction guidelines while identifying opportunities for refinement. Supports governance of design assets to maintain quality and reduce fragmentation. Drives continuous improvement of design processes to enhance efficiency and consistency at scale.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engages with cross-functional stakeholders to align design outcomes with broader business and technical priorities. Essential/Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in User Experience Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in industry-standard design and prototyping tools (for example, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar).

  • Foundational knowledge of responsive design principles and accessibility standards (for example, ADA/WCAG).

  • Understanding of front-end technologies (for example, HTML, CSS) sufficient to collaborate effectively with development teams.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions across digital platforms required. Must be submitted with application to be considered.

Essential Experience Required:

  • 2-4 years of experience in UX, UI, or digital product design within a web or e-commerce environment.

  • Experience translating business and user requirements into wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity design solutions.

  • Base Salary Range: $72,200 to $97,500 The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidate's qualifications and experience uniquely.
