Job description

Under the direction of the Director of Menu Operations the Recipe Instructional Designer will execute daily tasks related to recipe data entry, recipe instructional design, operational development, as well as any projects needed to uphold Crumbl's efforts to produce the Best Desserts in the World.
Responsibilities
Instructional design
  • Receive a recipe concept and create initial instructional design for new and existing recipe operations and concepts.
  • Generate applied instructional design for each R&D recipe, translating basic kitchen recipes and concepts into clear, comprehensive instructions
  • Create Version 1 instructional design on recipes based on initial development from R&D Chefs
  • Provide accurate and detailed content for Version 1 recipes in the form of photo and video.
  • Simultaneously follow a recipe and be organized with notes on changes.
  • Write new recipes with weight, processes, and insights as recipes are being developed.
  • Maintain and manage all recipes within Crumbl's primary recipe database and instructional library, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

Process Development
  • Identify and outline needs for recipe testing and validation.
    Execute an in-depth recipe assessment on developed products prior to testing launch for the purpose of developing and finalizing operational procedures and validation recipe functionality.
  • Provide support to development, testing, training, and support teams to produce quality products and processes through detailed reports, documentations, and instruction.
  • Ensure quality execution of cookie recipes after assessment and testing. (Requires occasional travel)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support teams and ensure consistent product and process quality through clear documentation and detailed reporting.
  • Help with the cleaning, organization, and maintenance of the HQ Test Kitchen alongside other bakers.
  • Some domestic and international travel is required. Must maintain a valid passport and all necessary travel documentation. Travel may occupy up to 20% of time.
  • Helps the Director of Menu Operations with special projects. Special Projects will require knowledge and execution of both baking cookies and desserts.
  • Able to pivot and take constructive criticism.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and/or work experience equivalence in English, Communications, Instructional Design, or other relevant fields of study strongly preferred.
  • 6 months Crumbl experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with excellent time management and scheduling skills.
  • Able to quickly adapt to Crumbl's proprietary internal technology.
  • Excellent written communication skills for documentation and content updates.
  • Proven ability to manage complex production environments while maintaining brand integrity.
  • Comfortable working with content management systems or recipe databases.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to granular details.
  • Utah Food Handlers Permit
