Major Duties

Under the general supervision, the Digital Content Specialist plays a key role in the Anagnost College of Engineering and Computer Science's (ACECS) online presence by managing the college's digital communications and content strategy. The incumbent oversees the day-to-day maintenance and continuous improvement of the college's website, manages and enhances the college's social media presence, and develops electronic communications while working closely with the Dean and other college stakeholders to plan and implement digital content initiatives.

  • Overseeing the day-to-day maintenance and continuous improvement of the college and department websites.
  • Ensures all web content adheres to CSU and industry best practices for digital accessibility, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), content presentation, usability, and web standards to provide an engaging and effective user experience.
  • Coordinates the collection of graphics, photographs, videos, and other supporting materials for digital communications.
  • Produces two electronic newsletters each semester highlighting college achievements, events, research, student success, and other news.
  • Collects, organizes, catalogs, archives, and maintains digital assets, including photographs, videos, graphics, written content, and other media using online file management and project management systems to ensure assets remain organized and accessible for college-wide use.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience.
  • Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of website maintenance, content planning and publishing, digital accessibility requirements, SEO, usability principles, content presentation, and web standards needed to create an engaging and effective user experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to create, edit, publish, and distribute engaging content across websites, social media, and electronic communication channels; coordinate graphics, photographs, and videos; prepare email campaigns using platforms such as Emma; and collaborate effectively with administrators, faculty, students, and other stakeholders.
  • Thorough knowledge of content planning, writing, editing, publication, and distribution practices for electronic newsletters, with the ability to present college achievements, events, research, and student success accurately and effectively to diverse internal and external audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, catalog, archive, and maintain photographs, videos, graphics, and written content using online file and project management systems; analyze website, social media, email, and digital engagement metrics; prepare reports; and recommend communication improvements.

 

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver, and more.
  • Classification: 0458 / Marketing Communications Professional II / 1
  • The anticipated HIRING RANGE is $5178 - $5948 per month, dependent on qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $5178 - $7543 per month.
  • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday. May include evenings and weekends.  
  • This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period. 
  • The position is currently hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
