Web coding roles can vary, including front-end, back-end, and full-stack development positions.

What are some typical day-to-day responsibilities in a Web Coding role?

In a Web Coding role, your daily tasks often include developing and maintaining website features, writing and testing code, and troubleshooting bugs or performance issues. You’ll collaborate closely with designers to implement visual elements and work with back-end developers to integrate APIs or databases. To thrive in Web Coding, you need proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a solid understanding of web development principles, usually backed by relevant education or coding bootcamp experience. Familiarity with web frameworks like React or Angular, code versioning tools such as Git, and recognized certifications like those from FreeCodeCamp or W3Schools are highly beneficial. Job description

About the Role:
Dashing Diva is seeking a Web Designer who combines strong visual design skills with hands-on front-end development and fluency with AI-assisted design and coding tools. This is not a traditional web designer role - we need someone who can use AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, Figma AI, and similar platforms to prototype, build, and optimize at a pace that matches our growth.
You will own the design, development, and ongoing optimization of DashingDiva.com - our direct-to-consumer storefront and the brand's digital flagship.
This role sits within the Creative team and works closely with the Sr. Art Director (Retail/Print), Sr. Designer (UX/UI), and the Marketing team. You will take direction from the Creative Director and collaborate with the Ecom/Media team on conversion optimization and performance.
What You Will Do:
Website Design & Development
  • Own the full redesign and ongoing evolution of DashingDiva.com - from wireframes through production code.
  • Build responsive, high-performance pages using Shopify (Liquid), HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and AI-assisted coding tools.
  • Design and implement product detail pages (PDPs) that showcase 300-500 SKUs across five product franchises with rich imagery, video, and UGC integration.
  • Create landing pages for product launches, seasonal campaigns, IP collaborations, and promotional events.
  • Implement and maintain the site's visual design system - ensuring consistency across all pages, emails, and digital touchpoints.
AI-Assisted Design & Prototyping
  • Use AI tools (Claude, Cursor, Figma AI, Midjourney, v0, and similar) to rapidly prototype page layouts, generate component code, and iterate on design concepts.
  • Build and maintain a library of reusable, AI-generated components and templates that accelerate production across the site.
  • Leverage AI for image optimization, asset generation, and content personalization where applicable.
  • Stay current on emerging AI design and development tools; evaluate and recommend new tools to the team.
Conversion & Performance Optimization
  • Partner with the Ecom/Media team to optimize site speed, conversion rates, and user experience.
  • Design and execute A/B tests on key pages (homepage, PDPs, collection pages, cart/checkout flow).
  • Analyze site performance data (GA4, heatmaps, session recordings) and translate insights into design improvements.
  • Ensure all pages meet Core Web Vitals standards and are optimized for mobile-first browsing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Coordinate with Sr. Designer on UX/UI direction and design system alignment.
  • Work with the Sr. Art Director/Creative Director to ensure retail/print brand identity translates cohesively to digital.
  • Support the Marketing team with campaign landing pages, email template design, and CRM creative as needed.
  • Collaborate with the offshore production pod on asset preparation and delivery for the site.
What We're Looking For:
Required
  • 3-5 years of experience in web design with hands-on front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating both visual design and functional web builds.
  • Proficiency with Shopify (Liquid templating) or a comparable e-commerce platform.
  • Demonstrated use of AI-assisted design or coding tools (Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Figma AI, v0, or similar).
  • Proficiency in Figma for design collaboration, wireframing, and handoff.
  • Experience with responsive design, mobile-first development, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Understanding of UX principles: information architecture, user flows, accessibility (WCAG), and conversion-focused design.
  • Comfortable working with analytics tools (GA4, Hotjar, or equivalent) to inform design decisions.
Preferred
  • Beauty, CPG, or fashion ecommerce experience - understanding of PDP best practices, visual merchandising, and seasonal campaign cycles.
  • Experience with AI image generation tools (Midjourney, Firefly, DALL-E) for creating or enhancing web assets.
  • Familiarity with email/CRM design (Klaviyo or similar).
  • Motion/animation skills (CSS animations, Lottie, lightweight video integration).
  • Experience managing or coordinating with offshore design/production teams.
  • Bilingual Korean-English is a plus, but not required.
You'll love working at Dashing Diva because:
  • Great work environment to grow and learn new skills
  • We are collaborative and work closely with each other
  • We give everyone a chance to be creative and value input and feedback
  • We participate in fun events like Beautycon, NYFW
  • In-office catered breakfast, lunches, and team lunches, team outings, and team-building activities
  • Perks: Health benefits (Medical, dental, vision, AD&D, Life), 401(k) matching, PTOs, Company holidays, Summer Fridays & more!
