Job description

Job Overview:

The Web Development team programs and creates the scripting language behind B&H’s web pages and ensures their compatibility with internal back-end servers and software systems. Any changes or modifications are drafted in conjunction with the Web Design team to plan and determine code capabilities for purposed design change as well as establish the code’s functionality with the existing e-commerce web technology systems. 

The Web Developer programs and creates basic to advanced code structures using Java technologies and SQL Query languages. S/he possesses basic to advanced knowledge of multiple web programming languages and object oriented design, and the incumbent may need to understand how to manipulate the architectural framework of code design according to back-end server and software requirements.

Assignments given may be time sensitive and require development manipulation across multiple internal web systems. Tests will be conducted in different stages to ensure the appropriate operation of code for launch in production stage.   

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Programs and creates code for website using Java technologies and SQL Query languages
  • Receive basic to advanced web development requests and tracks in Jira
  • May need to establish project requirements based on individual need for accurate and efficient project resolution
  • May need to establish development framework for accurate back-end server integration
  • May monitor code structure at all levels of development and testing to identify need for repair as needed
  • Collaborate with all parties to determine need for code or development changes
  • May coordinate high integration projects with appropriate departments outside of web development
  • Web development life cycle knowledge
  • Understand the back-end and front-end of a website

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Adapt to new and evolving technologies for efficient web development integration
  • As assigned by Manager

Preferred Education, Experience and Licenses:

  • The assignments given will not be time sensitive and do not require any amount of development manipulation
  • Less than 1 year writing core Java, JDK, SQL, JSTL, or JSP
