Position Overview:
The position of Web Developer will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and implementing approved business-critical Web Applications to deliver new functionality and long-term value to the organization. This role combines strong technical proficiency in Java web development with the analytical skills needed to understand business requirements, design effective solutions, and provide ongoing enhancements. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual who can work both independently and collaboratively with business users and other IT team members to deliver high-quality, reliable software solutions, while effectively leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as Claude to improve productivity, code quality, documentation, testing, and debugging. This is a key role in ensuring the performance, enhancement, and growth of our business systems, which are vital to our daily operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and implement software components and enhancements in accordance with approved project plans and ensuring high-quality, reliable code.
  • Integrate with internal and external systems, APIs, or web services.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle for new features and system enhancements.
  • Apply Claude and similar AI-assisted development tools as part of the development workflow to explore solution approaches, validate logic, and strengthen code decisions while ensuring all final work is reviewed, secure, and aligned with company standards
  • Conduct system and functional testing to ensure quality and performance.
  • Collaborate with business users, project managers, and QA teams to validate solutions.
  • Completes any additional responsibilities and/or duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in core Java development and Java EE components
  • Hands-on experience developing Java-based web applications.
  • Experience using Claude or similar AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software development.
  • Experience with developing REST API
  • Experience and knowledge working with various data formats such as XML, JSON
  • Advanced experience in writing SQL queries on MYSQL, DB2 and Snowflake
  • Experience in style sheet, web page design
  • Experience in cloud integrations
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to work at a detailed level while maintaining an overall project perspective.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to research, diagnose, and resolve technical issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Cross functional Retail knowledge is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  • Minimal travel to stores and distribution centers.
  • Duties frequently involve being seated for extended periods of time and using computers.
