Job Summary
The Web Master position in Information Technology is responsible for assisting with the development and publication of web content, working directly with faculty and staff to provide continuous maintenance and improvements to the university's intranet portal and related websites.
This position reports directly to the Director of Web as part of a team that shares responsibilities and works collaboratively on a daily basis; assisting employees across the institution to build and enhance web-based tools to facilitate communication and deliver important information to all audiences; and assisting other divisions within the Office of Information Technology by working on projects that are not limited to the core responsibilities of the Web Division.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Graphic Design or related field, OR minimum of two years of related work experience
2. Experience using Microsoft 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud applications and services
3. In-depth knowledge of web development and authoring tools such as Web site design and implementation (HTML, CSS)
4. Working knowledge of a programming language such as ASP.NET, JavaScript, Visual Basic and C#.
5. Basic knowledge of internet protocols, e.g., Transmission Control Protocol/Internet protocol (TCP/IP)
8. Sufficient communication, writing and prioritization skills to manage projects and assist end-users with website content management
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience developing server-side web applications
2. Familiar with source control/versioning tools
3. Familiar with the latest macOS and Windows operating systems
4. Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio or comparable IDE
5. Customer service experience assisting end-users with support issues
6. Ability to demonstrate at least one functional web application, website, blog, social media or other online publication
7. Familiarity with security/privacy best practices and state and federal guidelines and requirements including FERPA, GLBA, GDPR, HIPAA and ADA
