Job description

We are seeking an experienced Application Developer to design, develop, enhance, and support business applications used within a manufacturing and engineering environment.

This is a hands-on development role for someone who can take ownership of applications throughout the full development lifecycle—from understanding business requirements and designing solutions through development, testing, deployment, and production support.

The ideal candidate brings strong C#/.NET and SQL Server experience along with the ability to troubleshoot production applications, improve existing systems, and work directly with both technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Application Development:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy business applications using C#/.NET technologies.
  • Develop and enhance applications utilizing ASP.NET MVC and/or .NET Core.
  • Work extensively with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL, including database design, queries, indexing, and application data requirements.
  • Support and maintain applications hosted within IIS environments.
  • Develop new functionality and resolve bugs within existing business applications.
  • Refactor and modernize existing applications to improve performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Software Delivery & Production Support:

  • Own assigned development work through requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-release support.
  • Troubleshoot production application issues using logs, system information, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions that prevent recurring application issues.
  • Participate in application releases, change management, and deployment activities.
  • Maintain appropriate testing, documentation, release notes, and rollback procedures.

Development Practices:

  • Work with Git-based source control and modern software development workflows.
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain strong standards around code quality, security, and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain unit and integration testing.
  • Contribute to CI/CD, deployment automation, and environment management initiatives.
  • Apply secure coding practices related to authentication, authorization, input validation, and application security.

Application Modernization & Integration:

  • Support modernization of legacy applications and internal business tools.
  • Assist with application integrations, APIs, and service-based architectures.
  • Participate in technical design discussions and solution reviews.
  • Evaluate development approaches based on scalability, performance, security, and long-term maintainability.
  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree with approximately 2–4 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong professional development experience with C# and .NET.
  • Experience with ASP.NET MVC and/or .NET Core.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
  • Working knowledge of IIS and web application deployment.
  • Experience with Git/source control and modern development workflows.
  • Understanding of unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and software quality practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and support applications in a production environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to translate business needs into effective software solutions.
  • Experience supporting applications within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or distribution environments is preferred.
  • Exposure to APIs, system integrations, legacy application modernization, CI/CD, or DevOps practices is a plus.
  • Direct hire
