Job description

Job Summary:
The position of IT DEVELOPER reports directly to the Development Manager. Primary responsibilities include working with the development team, management, and users to research company processes and develop software to improve those processes; develop both customer-facing and internal web applications; maintain existing software; help test, review, document, and support all development projects.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain and support existing internal and customer-facing web applications.
  2. Work with the development team to understand company processes and help develop and test solutions to improve those processes.
  3. Suggest new and improved technologies or infrastructure to improve company operations.
  4. Assist other developers in development, maintenance, testing, and documentation.
  5. Maintain legacy software solutions including IBM i, RPG, and existing ERP integrations.
  6. Perform other duties as appropriate and assigned.
  7. Maintain a professional and collaborative attitude when working with team members, employees, and customers, while supporting company goals and upholding K&M Values.
  8. Independently develop, maintain, test, document, and support both customer-facing and internal web applications.
  9. Lead collaboration with the development team, management, and users to design and develop software solutions that improve company processes.
  10. Support development projects and assist internal users and customers with web application and software related issues.
  11. Maintain organized and detailed documentation of programming tasks, department processes, and systems to support troubleshooting and onboarding of new employees.

Job Requirements:
  1. Proficient in front-end web technologies including HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and Ajax. Experience with front-end frameworks such as Twitter Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS is required. Familiarity with responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility is expected.
  2. Proficient in PHP including both procedural and object-oriented programming. Experience in one or more frameworks including Laravel, Slim, or Symfony (MVC frameworks) and familiarity with Composer for dependency management are preferred. GOLANG experience is a plus."
  3. Proficient in SQL with hands-on experience in MySQL and DB2. Knowledge of relational database design, normalization, and query optimization is required. Experience with PostgreSQL, MSSQL, or IBM i DB2 for i is preferred.
  4. Experience working with data integrations including EDI, API, AS, SFTP, and FTP connections is preferred.
  5. Familiarity with Docker Swarm, Docker containers, and Ubuntu/Debian (Linux) environments is a plus.
  6. Experience with legacy IBM i (AS/400) systems including RPG IV free-form, CL programming, DDS, and DB2 for i is a plus.
  7. The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with information and conversations.
  8. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a multi-tasking environment.
  9. Service oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  10. Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  11. Must be willing to work within the standards already developed by K&M Tire.
  12. Must be willing and able to work after normal business hours or weekends when needed.
  13. Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.

IT Developer I Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
