Location: Richmond, VA (Onsite 3 days/week at 1401 East Broad Street, Richmond, VA)

Duration: Long-Term (Projected beyond 6/30/2027; potential 24-month duration)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Important Candidate Requirements

·         Local Candidates Only: Vendors must ONLY submit candidates currently residing in the Richmond, VA area.

·         Interview Format: ALL interviews will be conducted ONSITE.

·         Parking Notice: Contractors are responsible for procuring their own parking or purchasing parking via the VDOT Parking Management Office.

Role Overview

VDOT-AMD is seeking a Senior .NET Applications Developer with 10+ years of web application development experience. The Programmer Analyst will be responsible for managing, encoding, and analyzing complex software requirements to design and build high-quality components using the .NET Core framework.

The ideal candidate adheres to programming best practices, prioritizes work effectively in an Agile environment, and writes comprehensive system documentation. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential to bridge technical specifications and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

·         Develop robust applications and backend services using C#, ASP.NET MVC, Web API, JavaScript, jQuery, AngularJS, Node.js, CSS, and Blazor.

·         Design and implement solutions using software design patterns that maximize reusability, maintainability, and architectural integrity.

·         Write effective unit and integration tests to ensure reliable, high-quality software delivery.

·         Collaborate with business and system analysts to clarify requirements, refine user stories, and implement functional solutions.

·         Active participation in all phases of the Agile SDLC.

·         Apply in-depth knowledge of system design patterns, multi-tiered architecture, and automated testing practices.

Required Qualifications & Skills

·         10+ years of professional experience in .NET Web Application Development.

·         Strong fluency with .NET Core framework, C#, ASP.NET MVC, and Web APIs.

·         Experience with frontend technologies including JavaScript, jQuery, CSS3, and HTML5.

·         Exposure or experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Blazor).

·         Deep understanding of tiered architectures, design patterns, and unit/integration testing methodologies.

·         Strong understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies as they relate to IT delivery.
