Job description

About Base

Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.

About the Role

We're looking for a Graphic Designer who loves making things. This is a highly execution-focused role for someone who takes pride in craft, speed, and consistency. You'll work within an established brand system to create marketing, sales, print, and digital assets that help Base launch new markets, support customers, and grow awareness of our products.

You'll spend most of your time in Figma creating marketing campaigns, sales materials, one-pagers, direct mail, presentations, social content, and launch assets. Experience designing web and landing page experiences is a plus, but not required.

This role is ideal for a designer who loves turning creative direction into polished, high-quality work at scale. You'll work within an established brand system to create everything from sales collateral and direct mail to launch campaigns and digital assets, helping bring Base to life across every customer touchpoint.

You'll join a small team with a high bar for craft and a lot to build. Success in this role comes from strong execution, attention to detail, and the ability to produce thoughtful work quickly across a wide range of formats and channels.

What You'll Do

  • Design marketing, sales, and launch materials across digital and print channels.

  • Create one-pagers, sales decks, direct mail, event collateral, social assets, digital ads, presentations, and campaign creative.

  • Execute highly crafted design from established creative direction.

  • Build clear layouts and strong visual hierarchies through typography, spacing, composition, and systems thinking.

  • Prepare clean, production-ready files for both digital and print deliverables.

  • Adapt campaigns across formats, channels, and markets while maintaining consistency and quality.

  • Partner closely with Growth, Sales, Partnerships, and other teams to deliver work on tight timelines.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high bar for craft.

  • Maintain and contribute to design systems, templates, and reusable asset libraries.

  • Continuously improve workflows, organization, and file management to help the team move faster.

What You'll Bring

  • 2–6 years of professional graphic design experience.

  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong layout systems, typography, and the ability to work successfully within established brand guidelines.

  • Expert proficiency in Figma and strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign).

  • Experience designing across both print and digital mediums.

  • Strong understanding of typography, spacing, composition, and visual hierarchy.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of work while maintaining a strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality.

  • Exceptional organization and file management skills.

  • Ability to take direction, work independently, and execute with minimal oversight.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Direct mail or print production experience.

  • Experience working on performance marketing creative.

  • Motion graphics, video editing, or light animation experience.

  • Experience designing web or landing page experiences.

  • Experience working at a startup or in-house creative team.

About the Team

The Brand and Creative team helps translate Base’s products, technology, and mission into something people can understand and trust. We work across nearly every part of the business, from launching new markets and supporting utility partnerships to helping homeowners understand a completely new kind of power company.

Unlike many design teams that focus on a single product or channel, our work spans digital experiences, physical products, sales enablement, marketing campaigns, events, and print. The result is a team that gets to build real things, see them in the world, and directly influence how thousands of people experience Base.

We’re a small team that moves quickly and values people who can operate with a high degree of ownership. If you're excited by tangible impact, strong creative partnerships, and the opportunity to produce a large volume of meaningful work, you'll fit right in.

Please note: Base is a startup, which means priorities shift and evolve quickly. Your role may expand or change based on the needs of the business at any given time, so the responsibilities listed may not be exhaustive.

Our Values

  • First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles > rules.

  • Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.

  • Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, and maintain a growth mindset.

  • Everyone’s an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results.

  • Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information.

  • Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a big challenge. We work hard because we care deeply about the impact we’re creating. We work in-person. It’s not a 9-to-5. We are all-in.

  • Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration coincide with the intensity of building real things.

Do the best work of your life at Base.
