Job description

The Craftsperson, Parts Cutting & Kitting - 3 is responsible for cutting lineal materials to order specifications and preparing kits for production, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with safety standards. This role requires working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality goals. The craftsperson will operate specialized cutting equipment, follow detailed specifications, and support departmental needs as required.

Starting pay at $20.50/hr. & receive a $1,500 sign on bonus!

Plus, receive pay increases at 90 days and 6 months.

Typical schedule 1st Shift Monday - Thursday 6:00 am - 3:30 pm with Friday overtime as needed.

  • Strong organizational ability and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with degree cutting and product specifications.
  • Ability to read and utilize tape measures accurately.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to learn and implement safety and quality procedures.
  • Basic computer skills for viewing parts and production requirements.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Problem-solving, adaptability, and decision-making abilities. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate respectfully in a team setting.

Environment

  • Fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

  • Ability to work around and frequent interaction with moving equipment and machinery.

Education / Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred; job-specific experience is a plus.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings.
  • Training timeline for this position is up to 4 weeks.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 100 lbs. at waist level and up to 70 lbs. at shoulder level occasionally.
  • Push or pull up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally.
  • Generate up to 100 lbs. of grip strength and 20 lbs. of pinch strength occasionally.
  • Perform repetitive tasks for extended periods (up to 12 hours per day).
  • Stand continuously and walk frequently during shifts.
  • Stoop, kneel, squat, and reach forward or sideways as needed.
  • Perform occasional elevated work when handling products.
  • Operate computerized/optimizing chop saw and other cutting equipment to produce parts according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret process documentation, including standard operating procedures, cut sheets, and standard work instructions.
  • Inspect parts for quality defects and ensure compliance with production standards.
  • Train employees on processes and safety standards as needed.
  • Assist with annual inventory and support other departments as assigned.
  • Comply with all safety, quality, and production requirements and procedures. 
  • Rotate to other positions as needed and perform additional duties as assigned.
