FoxNews.com & FoxBusiness.com are looking for an experienced Politics Reporter to join our team. You have years of experience in journalism with an eye for breaking and compelling news to serve our audience. You "live and breathe" news, consuming content from a wide variety of sources. You can write and produce several stories efficiently daily, covering news of the day along with original and exclusive news.

You will be offered the following shift:

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM ET - 4:00 PM ET

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cover breaking news events, writing quickly and precisely to help solidify Fox News as the go-to site for developing stories

  • Source international media for stories that resonate with FoxNews.com's audience, aggregating with complete and proper attribution

  • Pursue original and exclusive stories with headlines and angles in mind, working closely with contacts and sources

  • Attend press conferences, events, and other relevant gatherings to report on current events and developments

  • Verify facts, sources, and information to ensure accuracy and credibility in reporting.

  • Collaborate with editors, photographers, editors, fellow reporters, and other team members to produce high-quality journalistic content

  • Stay updated on current events, trends, and issues to pitch and pursue compelling story ideas

  • Meet deadlines and manage time effectively to prioritize and execute assignments efficiently

  • Adapt to changing news priorities and contribute to coverage of breaking news and developing stories as needed

  • Ability to travel to investigate, interview, fact check, and report on original stories.

  • Present all original and exclusive stories in an accessible, consistent, and compelling style

  • Arriving to work prepared, with story ideas, pitches, and headlines in mind

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience covering the news and newsroom experience is required

  • Author page with easily accessible bylines

  • Strong knowledge of AP style

  • A clear and crisp writing style

  • A strong network of sources in Washington, DC

  • A firm grasp of current events and a desire to be precise, quick, and accurate in presenting the news to the vast FoxNews.com & FoxBusiness.com audience

  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and work under pressure in a fast-paced newsroom environment

  • Ability to be flexible and can work on some holidays as needed; possess an "on-call" mentality and be prepared to work under emergency or breaking news conditions

  • Experience working with journalists at the international level

  • Knowledge of developing SEO-focused content

  • Ability to travel and report from the field on short notice

  • Ability to leverage AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, NotebookLM) to accelerate research, fact-gathering, and story framing in a fast-moving news cycle. Photoshop and knowledge of video iPhone editing skills are a plus

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $102,000.00-115,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
