Overview

i3 seeks a qualified professional with extensive experience in Missile Weapon Systems, including the Aegis Weapon System, Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System, Mid-Range Capability (MRC) Typhon Weapon System, and/or SM6 Missiles. This position is responsible for developing and providing instruction and training on the operation, maintenance, and tactical employment of these advanced weapon systems to military and contractor personnel. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of operational experience and possesses a combination of hands-on operational and training expertise. This position is based in the Huntsville, AL, area with frequent travel.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and conduct training on the Aegis Weapon System, Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System, Typhon Weapon System, and SM6 Missiles in both classroom and tactical lab environments.
  • Develop and maintain lesson plans, training materials, tests, student handouts, and critical task lists for missile weapon systems.
  • Provide instruction on operational concepts, system capabilities, limitations, and tactical employment of the systems, and ensure training is aligned with the most current U.S. Government doctrine and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP).
  • Develop curriculum for missile systems, incorporating lessons learned and ensuring materials are up to date with current operational requirements.
  • Mitigate risks during training events, providing solutions for successful outcomes.
  • Work closely with senior management, assisting in the administration, development, and evaluation of training programs and instructional materials.
  • Administer training and ensure training objectives are met through formal assessments; provide counseling for students on academic and technical challenges.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience with Missile Weapon Systems, with at least one year of instructional experience in a military or training environment (Army, Navy, or similar).
  • Proven operational experience with the Aegis Weapon System and the SM6 Missile preferred (ideally including at least one shipboard tour and one training tour).
  • Experience in training military personnel, including curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, and preparing test items for missile systems.
  • Ability to discuss operational concepts related to the Aegis Combat System, SM6 Missiles, and related systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to research, design, and develop training content for a prototype system where formal documentation and materials may not yet exist. Must be comfortable creating instructional materials from incomplete, evolving, or conceptual information.
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • A current and valid U.S. Passport is required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with curriculum development for missile systems like AIM I, AIM II, CPM/LOM, or similar programs.
  • Experience with the Mid-Range Capability (MRC) Weapon System is highly desirable.
  • Combat Systems Training Team experience is a plus.
  • SM6 Missile experience and expertise in missile system fielding and training.
  • Qualification as a military instructor; master training specialist highly preferred.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

  • Occasional lifting of system components (up to 50 lbs).
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods during training sessions.

Travel Requirements:

  • Frequent travel (approximately 50-80%) throughout the continental U.S. and limited overseas travel is required, with some travel periods lasting 6-7 weeks.
