Description
SAIC is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Advanced Hypersonic Weapons & Guided Munitions Division (E20) to support software development of Naval gun weapons systems in Dahlgren, VA.
The Software Engineer will develop and design data analysis scripts in MATLAB, as well as methods and tools to review and analyze data from various testing efforts. Job responsibilities will include designing and developing analysis material, root cause analysis, analyzing data as well and preparing visual reports to include two- and three-dimensional plots, and presenting the findings of the analysis to help in proving system methods, capabilities and readiness of the system. There will also be opportunities to expand this role to include testing and operation of distributed systems during internal Verification and Validation sprints and/or field testing.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, scientific or technical discipline and two (2)+ years of experience; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Must be competent in the development of MATLAB scripts to process large amount of structured data files as well as processing the data files through MATLAB.
  • Testing and evaluation experience.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of team members on the project.
  • Ability to work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, military personnel.
  • Ability to define task details, estimates, and schedules using Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word.)
  • Must have at least an interim Secret security clearance.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Hyper Velocity Weapons preferred.
    Familiarity with research and development projects a plus.
  • Experience related to gun weapon systems and/or Army/Navy programs.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
