Job Overview
The Vice President, Wealth Management is the sales leader that oversees all aspects of the Wealth Managementย business unit of FirstOntario and leads the team to grow and develop into experts in their field.

Role

  • Develop, execute and lead the organization's Wealth Management Strategy a sales strategy to marketย our products and services within the communities we serve by educating and promoting our offerings
  • Oversee all aspects of Wealth Management business for FirstOntario including financial planningย services, in-branch mutual fund sales, Private Wealth Advisory, Insurance Advice and sales, onlineย brokerage, Robo advice and Trust and Estate Services
  • Lead and provide guidance in the development and management of wealth teams, compensatioย modelling, business processing, compliance, wealth marketing and sales management to ensureย expected returns are met
  • Provide guidance and support to ensure staff adhere to FirstOntario and Aviso operating standards andย risk management policies, procedures, pricing and fee practices
  • Lead and encourage sales activities and community awareness through participation in various community and business events and networking activities to develop relationships with FirstOntario
  • Enthusiastically be responsible for the sales, fulfillment and administration of the Wealth business linesย and manage profitability
  • Act as the lead expert and contributor on all wealth related matters and provide guidance on coachingย and training related to developing a strong Wealth Management skill set within the credit union
  • Act as the lead and primary contact with FirstOntario Wealth strategic partners and third party suppliersย including Aviso Wealth, NEI Investments, Concentra, CUMIS and other mutual fund companies andย insurance companies.
  • Manage ad-hoc requests for various Wealth sales opportunities and proposals
  • Develop and deliver business cases and presentations to executive level management and provideย strategic financial advice
  • Be a part of strategic initiatives in the development of new technologies, processes and innovation thatย improves member experience and profitability through sales and service
  • Carefully manage resources to meet the business operations budget, business plan objectives, andย service level agreement monitoring variances and taking action to ensure targets are met
  • Impart your expert knowledge on staff and colleagues by being a natural mentor to help them stay onย top of the evolving business environment
  • Consider health & safety as a primary concern to ensure the overall well-being of yourself and yourย team
  • Perform other duties as required

Required Skills

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in business, finance or relatedย field or an equivalent combination of education and experience which includes a CFP, CIM or CFA designation, a securities license (RR) and ten to fifteen (10-15) years of leadership experience in Wealthย Management, investments and insurance
  • Be extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of Wealth Management business, and enjoy stayingย ahead of the market changes and leading best practises
  • Possess effective and professional sales and business development skills
  • Have strong analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to navigate through complex market conditions
  • Be an expert in Wealth products and services including face-to-face, online, mobile, teleservice andย other channels by utilizing your extensive experience within the financial services industry
  • Have proven expertise growing a high performing team, with a focus on coaching and mentorship
  • Be forward thinking and strategic when it comes to wealth management business and how to ultimatelyย advance the credit union
  • Share your knowledge about securities, mutual funds and insurance operations, procedures, CRMs and
    sales processing systems
  • Be detail-oriented, analytical, and have an incredible passion for ensuring the accuracy of data
  • Enjoy a challenge when it comes to complex investment and insurance issues and be resourceful in ways
    to find innovative solutions
  • Be quick to respond to requests for service from all of your clients
  • Inherently demonstrate a high level of integrity, confidentiality and trustworthiness
  • Have superior communication, interpersonal skills and presentation skills that can be adapted to yourย audience
  • Embrace the philosophy of lifelong learning
  • Be proficient with computer software including but not limited to MS Office
  • Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Be aware of and mitigate enterprise risk factors and ensure compliance with applicable regulations,ย legislation and FirstOntario and Aviso policies and procedures

This role is hybrid in Stoney Creek, ON.

Salary Range: $169,238 to $211,548 annually.

Compensation for this role reflects a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Those whose experience more closely aligns the role's requirements may be placed higher within the salary range.
