SCOPE:
The Hills Bank Trust and Wealth Management department provides a broad range of financial services to help clients manage, grow and protect their wealth.
The Wealth Management Officer career track may start at the Wealth Management Analyst or Wealth Management Associate roles. These roles focus on the fundamentals of financial planning and account management. You'll gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside leading professionals in the disciplines of financial planning, retirement planning, investments and trust services.
The primary focus for this position is partnering with Wealth Management Officers in development of new client opportunities, expanding existing relationships (wealth management and overall banking) and retention of current customers. Collaborative teaming and partnering is a necessary requirement of this position to ensure positive perspective and existing customer experiences and demonstrate the depth of the Trust and Wealth Management Department. Wealth Management Associates are expected to support other Trust and Wealth Management Officers with business development and ongoing account administration, including developing and implementing personalized financial plans, monitoring of client investment portfolios managed by the Bank and other client administrative responsibilities to ensure smooth day-to-day client experiences and supporting department and bank growth.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Wealth Management and Business Development Support (60%)
  • Solve complex account issues that require extensive analysis while moving through different scenarios and systems. You will work in conjunction with other internal teams including Wealth Management, Investments, Trust and Operations.
  • Assist customers with establishing new accounts and initiating funding and rollover transactions.
  • Communicate directly with customers and internal colleagues to ensure the execution of customer deliverables and progress towards Hills Bank's goals.
  • Assist in the creation and updating of prospect and customer financial plans and investments analyses.
  • Utilize software and tools that facilitate financial planning
  • Gather data and create reports that are utilized by the department and its committees.
  • Enhance and maintain Hills Bank's reputation as an area leader in wealth management.
  • Note and verify significant information as required by Hills Bank policy and procedure. Ensure that Hills Bank procedures are followed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer account information.

Account Administration (40%)
  • Administer various wealth management accounts including all types of IRAs and Individual Portfolios as provided under the governing instrument in accordance with Bank policy, established practice, approved procedures and legal constraints with primary focus in the area of financial and retirement planning.
  • Work with investment officers to invest client accounts in wealth management model portfolios. Maintain investment direction in all accounts under administration, including monitoring of investment objectives, asset allocations, and keeping cash invested as appropriate.
  • Resolve a high volume of customer inquiries in a timely manner while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Perform annual account and investment reviews for each assigned account.
  • Ensure that transactions in accounts under their direct administration are given proper tax codes, have a general knowledge of tax rules.

EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and wealth management experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience with wealth management, private banking, financial planning, investment or trust administration.
  • Proficiency in basic office skills, including computer use, communication, and standard office equipment.
