Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Air Quality Compliance Specialist with 3 – 4+ years of experience in air quality permitting and compliance. This role involves supporting permitting efforts for both new and existing facilities, maintaining regulatory compliance, and providing strategic support for air quality management.  This position also plays a key role in due diligence for acquisition projects, regulatory reporting, monitoring and testing coordination, agency interface, and the implementation of corrective actions as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support air permitting efforts, including NSR and Title V permit applications and modifications.
  • Ensure compliance with air quality regulations, including NSPS and NESHAP standards.
  • Perform emission calculations and support the preparation of compliance reports.
  • Develop and maintain compliance calendars and monitoring/testing schedules.
  • Conduct air compliance audits and prepare related documentation.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies during inspections and reporting activities.
  • Stay informed on regulatory updates and communicate their operational impact to clients.
  • Assist in due diligence and acquisition-related environmental assessments.
  • Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with clients and regulatory personnel.


Requirements:

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Solid understanding of air quality permitting processes and relevant federal/state regulations.
  • Experience in air compliance activities at industrial facilities is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in emission calculations, data analysis, and compliance strategies.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clients, regulators, and team members.
  • High-level proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel for data manipulation and reporting.
  • Ability to navigate regulatory websites, databases, and guidance documents.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and capable of working independently.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of environmental experience, with a focus on air quality.
  • High level of professional ethics and a proactive work approach.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism to maintain and develop client relationships.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10–15% as needed.
