We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to lead and manage building enclosure consulting, design, and rehabilitation projects for commercial, institutional, municipal, healthcare, educational, and high-rise facilities. The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader overseeing the evaluation, design, bidding, and construction administration of building envelope projects, with a primary focus on roof replacement design, facade repair and restoration design, waterproofing systems, and forensic investigations.

This position requires strong technical expertise in building enclosure systems, client relationship management, project leadership, and construction administration.

  • PE or RA license required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in roofing and building enclosure consulting and design.
  • A valid driver's license with acceptable violation history may be required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status required within 2 years.
  • Investigate water intrusion, air leakage, condensation, and building envelope performance issues.
  • Perform condition assessments of existing building enclosure and roofing systems.
  • Develop roof replacement, reroofing, roofing rehabilitation, waterproofing, and facade designs.
  • Prepare construction drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates, and bid documents.
  • Evaluate compliance with applicable building codes, wind uplift requirements, energy codes, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Review contractor submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and product data.
  • Provide construction phase services, including site observations and project closeout inspections.
  • Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrating safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
  • Responsible for continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor and promote quality standards and practices.
  • Responsible for providing consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery.
  • Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk and how to protect the Company. Be familiar with company risk policies.
  • Senior level engineering professional providing technical direction required for production and completion of both routine and unique or complex projects.
  • Responsible for conceptualizing the initial design and/or investigative approach for a major phase of a large project or have overall responsibility for the engineering work on a project of moderate scope.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinates engineering work involving conventional engineering practices but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements.
  • Provide review of projects requiring complex and innovative investigation techniques and supervise the analysis and formulation of recommendations in written reports to clients; provides technical review of reports.
  • Lead technical training and make informed decisions based upon state of the art technology issues.
  • Provide leadership of marketing, sales and business development.
  • Supervise less experienced engineers or technical support personnel on projects.
  • Serve as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
