What does a waterproofing contractor do?

A waterproofing contractor specializes in preventing water from entering buildings or structures by applying techniques and materials that create moisture barriers. They work on foundations, basements, roofs, and other vulnerable areas to ensure they remain dry and protected from water damage. Their services may include installing drainage systems, sealing cracks, applying waterproof membranes, and conducting repairs to existing waterproofing systems. Hiring a waterproofing contractor can help prevent costly water-related issues and improve the durability of a property.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a waterproofing contractor?

To excel as a Waterproofing Contractor, you need in-depth knowledge of construction techniques, building codes, and waterproofing materials, often supported by relevant trade certifications or licensure. Familiarity with tools such as moisture meters, sealant applicators, and blueprint reading software is typically required. Attention to detail, problem-solving, and effective communication are vital soft skills for diagnosing issues and coordinating with clients or teams. These competencies ensure durable, code-compliant waterproofing solutions that protect structures and satisfy client expectations.

What are some typical challenges a waterproofing contractor faces on the job site, and how can they be managed?

Waterproofing Contractors often encounter challenges such as unexpected weather conditions, site accessibility issues, and the discovery of structural damage while preparing surfaces. Managing these challenges requires adaptability, thorough site assessments before starting work, and clear communication with clients and other construction professionals. Staying updated on the latest materials and techniques also helps ensure effective solutions and minimizes delays, contributing to successful project outcomes.

Commercial Roofing Sales Representative

Eskola, LLC – Atlanta, Georgia, Cartersville, Georgia, or Surrounding Area |  Full-Time  |  $65,000 - $90,000 / hour + Commission +
Bonus Incentives (Based on Qualifications & Experience)

Eskola, LLC is a national, full-service commercial roofing and waterproofing contractor with over 50 years in business, known for building lasting client relationships across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, government, hospitality, and multi-family markets.

We're seeking a motivated, results-driven Sales Representative with a "hunter" mentality - someone who thrives on identifying new opportunities, generating qualified leads, and closing high-value deals. This role offers unlimited commission potential and the backing of an established brand in a high-demand industry. Not a roofer? No problem - we welcome applicants from adjacent trades (HVAC, flooring, MEP, fire protection, and similar) looking to bring their client relationships into a growing industry.

What You Will Do

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business through cold calling, networking, site visits, and cross-selling into existing relationships
  • Build and maintain relationships with property owners, facility managers, and other key decision-makers
  • Conduct on-site inspections to assess roofing needs and recommend tailored solutions
  • Develop and deliver customized proposals, bids, and contracts
  • Collaborate with estimating, service, and project management teams for a smooth sales-to-execution handoff
  • Track market conditions, materials, and competitors to strategically position Eskola's services
  • Track leads, opportunities, and activities in CRM software, and consistently meet or exceed sales targets

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in commercial facilities sales, account management, or a related construction industry role
  • Established network of contacts within Eskola's target verticals (property management, industrial/manufacturing, education, warehousing, healthcare, logistics) in your market
  • Solid understanding of commercial building envelope and roofing systems, with the ability to communicate technical solutions clearly to clients
  • Proficient with CRM platforms for pipeline management and reporting
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, able to work independently and manage multiple opportunities at once
  • Comfortable with regular travel to client sites and working at heights (ladders, elevated access equipment) for pre-bid walks
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening

Preferred Skills & Certifications

  • Experience with large-scale commercial roofing projects
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
  • Experience in a fast-paced commercial roofing environment
