Job description

Summary of Position:
The Finance Analyst role will involve supporting FP&A activities, analyzing and appraising investment opportunities, executing capital market transactions, and supporting a number of commercial activities. All activities will support both WaterBridge and LandBridge.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
The following represents most of the position's duties but is not meant to be all-inclusive or prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary. Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory, environmental, and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies.
As a Finance Analyst, you will be responsible for:
  • Creating financial analyses (building financial models, valuation analyses, merger modeling, corporate finance solutions, etc.).
  • Develop operating and financial forecasts that drive the updates to corporate models at both LandBridge and WaterBridge.
  • Supporting FP&A activities, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting across both WaterBridge and LandBridge.
  • Tracking business development trends and themes (collecting research, analyzing industry trends, etc.).
  • Assisting in strategic analysis of commercial and inorganic opportunities target areas and basins.
  • Assisting internal and external teams in developing strategic plans, execution of mergers and acquisitions, project development, and asset optimization.
  • Working closely with senior management to evaluate corporate strategies and provide supporting analytics of the financial impact of the execution of such strategies.
  • Prepare and steward presentations for senior management and Board of Director meetings.
  • Assisting with investor relations efforts, including earning releases and investor presentations
  • Providing ad-hoc support to the treasury function, including liquidity management, cash flow forecasting, and debt compliance activities as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or accounting.
  • Must have 1 - 3 years of relevant work experience in finance. Ideal candidates will have backgrounds in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, and/or strategic planning groups at corporate organizations. Candidates with experience in the oil and gas industry (preferably E&P, midstream, or OFS) are preferred but not required.
  • Experience running complex analysis, including financial modeling, valuation analysis, etc.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to excel in a rigorous and fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent team player with the ability to anticipate and proactively resolve issues.
  • Willingness to devote the time necessary to complete assignments promptly and professionally.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate and present complex information to key internal and external stakeholders clearly and concisely.
  • Experience running complex analysis, including financial modeling, valuation analysis, etc.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
  • Proficient in using and applying Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
