To perform โ€œThe Perfect Service Callโ€ during preventative maintenance and diagnostics on residential heating and air conditioning systems: tanked and tankless water heaters, ducted systems, ductless systems, gas and pellet stoves, gas fireplaces and inserts according to company standards providing the customer with a high-quality experience. Perform like for like tanked and tankless water heater change outs. Perform diagnostic service calls during extended hours and weekend on-call rotations with phone assistance as needed. Develop beginning understanding and basic troubleshooting skills for geothermal systems.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Work hours are based on business needs and may vary. Extended hours and weekend work may be required to meet operational demands.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions
  • Assist with gathering information on-site for commercial maintenance bids
  • Train Level 1 - 3 Service Techs on how to perform The Perfect Service Call during ride-alongs and on the job
  • Run extended hours and on-call weekend rotation service calls with phone assistance as needed
  • Perform residential and light commercial preventative maintenance on all HVAC, water heating and gas fireplace/insert/pellet equipment according to company standards using The Perfect Service Call method to provide a friendly, high-quality customer experience
  • Proficiently perform diagnostics and maintenance on tanked and tankless water heaters
  • Proficiently perform diagnostics and maintenance on ducted and ductless equipment
  • Proficiently perform diagnostics and maintenance on gas fireplaces, gas inserts, gas stoves, and pellet stoves and inserts
  • Proficiently perform like for like change outs of tanked and tankless water heaters
  • Demonstrate the ability to meet company KPIโ€™s on the monthly Service Incentive Report, specifically meeting or exceeding truck revenue targets for a minimum of 9 out of 12 months
  • Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times

THE PERFECT SERVICE CALL

  • Arrive at the job site at scheduled time and location as dispatched
  • Relocate from one job site to another job site as dispatched during the workday
  • Report to the dispatcher when arriving and leaving job site
  • Operate company vehicle safely, obeying all traffic laws
  • Follow instructions from supervisor and/or dispatcher and carry out work in a timely manner
  • Report problems with company tools or vehicles promptly
  • Report problems with personal tools for possible replacement
  • Report problems with equipment to Service Dispatcher to expedite parts delivery
  • Report problems with customers to Manager or Service Dispatcher immediately
  • Document work with written notes and photos in software program
  • Communicate with customers and collect C.O.D. on service visits as directed
  • Gather information about equipment replacement needs and inform dispatch and sales so they can schedule a replacement estimate appointment using software checklist forms
  • Inform and educate customers about the benefits of preventative maintenance
  • Inform and educate customers on additional products or services available through company
  • Inform customer of replacement options following company guidelines
  • Demonstrate customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to clean indoor and outdoor coils
  • Complete all service related forms properly
  • Demonstrate in depth knowledge of electrical refrigeration principles
  • Demonstrate in depth knowledge of service tools and testing devices
  • Demonstrate in depth soldering skills
  • Attend team meetings, scheduled training/ meet training requirements as set by the company

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • 4-5 years of related HVAC experience
  • Must pass drug and background screens
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and insurable through Marshallโ€™s insurance carrier
  • Able to communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work with tools used in the job in a safe manner
  • Water Heater Installerโ€™s License required
  • LP License required
  • NATE Certification in Gas Heating (Air) Service requiredย

Work Environment
