Job description

The Water Well Pump Operator is responsible for managing and maintaining water well pump systems including submersible, centrifugal, and jet pumps. Working primarily outdoors in rural settings, the operator frequently travels between multiple well sites to ensure efficient pump operation and address maintenance needs. This role operates mainly on a day shift schedule and involves routine inspection, troubleshooting, and upkeep of pump systems to maintain reliable water flow.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor submersible, centrifugal, and jet pump systems
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on pump equipment
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure system functionality and safety
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues promptly
  • Travel frequently between multiple well sites to oversee pump performance
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain accurate operation logs

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in water well pump operation
  • Technical training in pump operation or hydraulics
  • Valid DOT Medical Card
  • Knowledge of pump system operation and mechanical maintenance
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication abilities
