Job description

Responsible for efficient and safe operation of tractor-trailer to safely deliver asphalt cement and burner fuel to customers.
Job Duties:
  • Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
  • Accurately complete daily vehicle inspection forms
  • Perform daily housekeeping on truck
  • Safely operate and maintain truck
  • Properly load, secure & unload material
  • Haul liquid asphalt in a tanker truck as well as crushed rock with a truck and belly dump trailer.
  • Operate water truck at the asphalt plant.
  • Accurately complete load tickets where applicable
  • Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
  • Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Safety FIRST mentality.
  • Service focused.
  • Must have valid Class A Commercial Driver License and ability to obtain tanker endorsement.
  • Must Pass Knife River / DOT MVR guidelines.

Additional Information:
  • Full-time position.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Able to work over 40 hours per week average.
  • Able to work some nights and weekends
  • Able to work independently.
  • Comfortable working in an outdoors environment for short periods of time.
  • Light mechanical skills preferred.
  • All equipment along with work clothing provided.

Travel Required
Yes. Minimal over-night stays. Typically, if employee has a breakdown.
