Job description

Loader Operator

As a Loader Operator you will be a key member of our pipe crew, responsible for operating and maintaining a loader to support the installation of water, sewer, and drainage systems. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient handling of materials and equipment required for the successful completion of underground utility projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain a loader with precision, following project plans and specifications for material handling and movement.
  • Safety: Strictly adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your team, as well as compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Material Handling: Safely handle pipes, materials, and other equipment required for the project, loading and unloading with precision.
  • Trenching Support: Assist in trenching and excavation tasks, as needed, to prepare the work area for pipe installation.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that material handling and loading work meets project standards, blueprints, and design specifications.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with the pipe crew, Pipe Crew Foreman, and other team members to coordinate material handling activities and achieve project goals.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and supervisors, reporting progress, challenges, and equipment issues as needed.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine equipment maintenance, including inspections, lubrication, and promptly reporting any equipment issues to the maintenance department.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including daily equipment inspection reports, work logs, and any required documentation.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and address operational challenges or issues that may arise during material handling and loading tasks.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Loader Operator in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining loaders for material handling and movement tasks.
  • Knowledge of construction plans, blueprints, and underground utility installation techniques.
  • Strong commitment to safety and strict adherence to safety protocols.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and at different job sites as required.
