Job description

The Coordinator – Rescue & Technical Training is responsible for overseeing rescue operations and delivering technical training services related to Rescue, H2S Gas Detection, Electronics, and Breathing Air systems. This role supervises and coordinates rescue personnel while also facilitating internal and external training programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, company, and client safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise technical rescue operations including confined space and rope rescue.
    • Deliver internal and external training for rescue, gas detection, electronics, and breathing air systems.
  • Train employees in Rigging up and Rigging Down our gas detection systems.
  • Train employees in calibrating gas detection systems.
  • Train employees in operation and maintenance of our gas detection systems.
  • Train employees in Fit Testing of Total Safety and Customer Personnel.
  • Train employees in Cascade Air Banks and SCBA’s
    • Maintain rescue equipment inventory, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
    • Review rescue preplans, RSAs, and ICS documentation.
    • Support emergency response coordination with EMS and agencies.
    • Prepare and deliver training materials and documentation.
    • Ensure regulatory and company compliance.
    • Coach and support team development.
    Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • 2+ years rescue field experience.
    • 1+ year training or instructional experience.
    • Required certifications including Rescue Technician, CPR/AED, Gas Detection, ICS, Confined Space Entry, SAFE GULF or SAFE LAND, and HazMat.
    • Strong communication, leadership, and technical skills.

Interpersonal Communications

Communicates effectively with immediate co-workers and immediate supervisor for instructions, training and guidance. Some contact with other departments or external contacts to clarify, obtain and furnish information. May have some external contact with

suppliers or customers. Effective oral and written communication skills with good vocabulary, good grammar and good telephone etiquette.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Uses hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

May be infrequently exposed to possible operations hazards or working in or visiting operational sites, including dust, fumes, toxic and caustic chemicals, rotating machinery, high pressure, hot or cold work temperatures, slippery surfaces, water and electrical hazards.

Complexity of Duties and Decisions: Works consists of varied but routine tasks, processes or operations that are clearly defined. Uses pre-determined standards to ensure that data is entered, reports are distributed, and projects are completed in accordance with department policies and procedures. Resolves basic questions & refers more complex issues to higher levels.

Authority: Works under direct supervision: Specific instructions are given on assignments or follows written or verbal instructions and established procedures and standard practice to perform assigned tasks.
