Job description

MWH is a leading water and wastewater treatment-focused general contractor in the US with a rich history dating back to the 19th century. Fueled by the mission of Building a Better World, our teams are rapidly growing across the nation.
MWH Constructors, a Colorado-based heavy civil construction company, is hiring an experienced Concrete Superintendent with a minimum of 10 years of experience, for a project in Gresham, Oregon.
The Concrete Superintendent is responsible for managing all field operations related to structural and civil concrete work on water/wastewater projects. This includes planning, coordinating, and overseeing the subcontractors performing the work, to ensure work is performed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.
This role requires a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of concrete construction, formwork systems, and public infrastructure projects in a water/wastewater environment.
Essential Functions
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety and ensure all work complies with company and OSHA standards.
  • Lead daily site operations for concrete placement, forming, rebar installation, and finishing.
  • Coordinate subcontractors superintendents and foremen to ensure safety, productivity and quality.
  • Interpret drawings and specifications to plan and sequence work efficiently.
  • Support manpower and equipment schedules, and material deliveries in coordination with the Package Manager.
  • Track daily progress, quantities, and labor hours; communicate variances to project leadership.
  • Collaborate with project team, QC inspectors, and owners to maintain schedule and resolve field issues.
  • Ensure adherence to QA/QC standards for rebar placement, concrete mixes, testing, and placement procedures.
  • Participate in project planning meetings, schedule reviews, and constructability input sessions.

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of heavy civil construction experience, with at least 5 years in a superintendent or foreman role.
  • Proven background in structural and civil concrete for water/wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, dams, or similar public works projects.
  • Strong knowledge of formwork systems (Symons, EFCO, Peri, etc.), layout, and reinforcement details.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise structural concrete work efficiently in fast-paced environments.
  • Solid understanding of project schedules, cost control, and productivity tracking.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Proficient with project documentation, including daily reports and field logs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with water/wastewater construction.
  • Must have strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Viewpoint is a plus.

Compensation
  • Anticipated yearly salary range is $140,000-$160,000 based on experience
