Job Summary

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Water Engineer (Professional Engineer - PE) to join our dynamic team on a part-time, full-time or hybrid basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative water resource projects, water treatment systems, and environmental compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in civil and environmental engineering to develop sustainable solutions, manage complex projects, and ensure regulatory adherence. Responsibilities

  • Lead and support water infrastructure projects, including water treatment, wastewater treatment, and water resources management.

  • Utilize advanced modeling software such as SWMM (Storm Water Management Model), HEC (Hydrologic Engineering Centers tools), and GIS platforms like ArcGIS for data analysis, mapping, and project planning.

  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings and designs using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Mechanical CAD tools.

  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables through effective project management and scheduling techniques.

  • Conduct site visits for data collection, geotechnical assessments, environmental permitting, and construction oversight.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations including EPA standards; facilitate environmental permitting and remediation efforts.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on environmental consulting projects involving environmental law, environmental remediation, and regulatory reporting.

  • Support research initiatives related to water resources, manufacturing processes, or oil & gas operations that impact water systems.

  • Maintain thorough documentation of project progress, technical reports, and regulatory submissions while adhering to environmental compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in civil or environmental engineering is required.

  • Proven experience with water treatment systems, wastewater treatment processes, and water resources engineering.

  • Proficiency in modeling tools such as SWMM, HEC software packages, GIS (ArcGIS), AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Mechanical CAD.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks effectively.

  • Knowledge of environmental law, EPA regulations, environmental permitting procedures, and environmental compliance standards.

  • Familiarity with geotechnical engineering principles and construction practices related to water infrastructure projects.
