Pay: $65,000–$80,000 annually

Join Our Team

Utility Partners of America (UPA) is seeking an experienced Field Operations Manager to oversee water meter installation and replacement projects throughout Florida. This leadership role is responsible for managing field operations, supervising Field Supervisors and installation crews, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all customers, state, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate resides in the Orlando area or is willing to travel frequently throughout Florida to support project operations.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Lead the daily operations of assigned water meter installation and replacement projects.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop Field Supervisors and installation technicians.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA regulations, Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) safety standards, customer requirements, and UPA policies.
  • Monitor productivity, quality, scheduling, budgets, and overall project performance.
  • Conduct field inspections, ride-a longs, coaching sessions, and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with utility clients, municipal representatives, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, materials, fleet, and equipment to ensure project success.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues, customer concerns, quality deficiencies, and safety incidents.
  • Review production reports, payroll approvals, quality metrics, and field documentation.
  • Enforce company policies and maintain a culture of safety, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources, Safety, Fleet, Recruiting, and Project Management to achieve project goals.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with contract specifications and customer expectations.
Required Qualifications
  • Must possess a current Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Level III Water Distribution Operator License.
  • Thorough knowledge of water distribution systems, water meter installation, and utility construction practices.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience managing field personnel.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safe work practices.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with utility customers, municipal representatives, inspectors, and executive leadership.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must successfully complete UPA’s pre-employment background review process and any customer-required screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on OUC water utility projects or similar municipal water distribution systems is highly desirable.
Travel Requirements
  • Orlando-area residency is preferred.
  • Candidates outside the Orlando area must be willing to travel frequently throughout Florida.
  • Overnight travel may be required based on project assignments and operational needs.
