Job description

A Rolex Certified Watchmaker is a highly skilled technician responsible for assembling, repairing, and maintaining Rolex watches to the brand’s exacting standards. This role requires precision craftsmanship, deep mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work with high-end timepieces. This role combines technical expertise in watchmaking with brand-specific standards, ensuring that luxury timepieces are assembled, repaired, and maintained to the highest quality. This role is ideal for those passionate about horology, precision craftsmanship, and working with high-end horological brands.
Position Summary
The Rolex Certified Watchmaker is part of our retail servicing team, ensuring that every watch meets Rolex’s quality and accuracy requirements. The position demands attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly amp; Repair: Assemble and repair Rolex watches using specialized hand and power tools, following strict quality standards
  • Servicing amp; Diagnostics: Perform diagnostics, servicing, and adjustments on mechanical and quartz movements
  • Water Resistance Testing: Conduct water resistance tests and replace case gaskets as needed
  • Quality Control: Inspect work throughout the process to ensure precision and functionality
  • Refinishing: Repair and refinish cases and bracelets
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain watchmaking tools and equipment
  • Record Keeping: Document work performed and parts used
  • Team Collaboration: Support workflow efficiency and troubleshoot mechanical issues
Qualifications amp; Requirements
Certification: Must be a Certified Rolex Technician (CW21 certification is a must) or equivalent (WOSTEP, SAWTA)
Experience: At least 2 years in watchmaking, preferably with luxury brands like Rolex, Omega, Breitling, or IWC
Skills: Strong mechanical knowledge of luxury watch components, familiarity with assembly line processes, and ability to work with small, delicate parts
Tools amp; Safety: Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision instrumentation; knowledge of manufacturing safety standards
Work Environment: Willingness to work in a manufacturing or retail setting, often extended hours, including weekends. May be sitting or standing for extended periods of time in a busy shop environment.
Typical Work Environment
  • Setting: Luxury watch manufacturing facility or high-end jewelry store.
  • Hours: Full-time, typically 5-day weeks (often Tuesday–Saturday), with possible overtime for events or peak periods

Salary Range
Level 30 Rolex Certified watchmaker starting around $80,000/year, with pay based on certification level and experience. Opportunity for productivity bonus based on performance.
