Civil Engineer in Training
Position Description
As a Civil Engineer in Training, you will join our Seattle office to produce construction documents for civil site projects, working onsite alongside our design team. What does this role involve day to day? You will use AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam to draft site plans, prepare engineering calculations, and research jurisdictional requirements, all under the guidance of a senior engineer.
What will you create? You will help produce plans, specifications, and technical memorandums for site systems and water and wastewater design across a variety of building construction projects. Our Seattle civil group is growing, so this is a chance to help shape that growth while building your own technical foundation.
What does success look like in year one? You will be comfortable producing accurate construction documents, contributing engineering calculations that require minimal revision, and supporting construction administration tasks including onsite field observation with growing independence.
Position Salary Range*
The expected salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000 annually.
Required Qualifications**
  • ABET accredited degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 1 year of related job experience within the US
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to apply engineering concepts to real world applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing
  • Ability to perform basic engineering calculations
  • Solid understanding of civil engineering fundamentals

  • Has passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
