How much do wasps jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 29, 2026, the average hourly pay for wasps in Florida is $20.98, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $12.06 and $24.51 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are some common challenges faced by pest control technicians when handling wasp infestations?

Pest control technicians often encounter several challenges when dealing with wasp infestations, such as locating hidden nests, working in difficult or hazardous environments (like attics or eaves), and ensuring personal safety from stings. Effective communication with clients about preparation and aftercare is also essential to prevent re-infestation. Additionally, technicians must stay up to date on the latest treatment methods and safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure the best outcomes for both clients and themselves.

What is a Wasps job?

A wasp's job in nature varies by species but generally includes pollination, hunting pests, and colony maintenance. Social wasps, like yellow jackets, have roles such as workers, drones, and queens. Workers forage for food, care for larvae, and protect the nest, while the queen lays eggs. Solitary wasps, on the other hand, hunt and provide food for their young without forming large colonies. Their roles contribute to maintaining ecological balance by controlling insect populations and assisting in plant pollination.

What is the difference between Wasps vs Pest Control Technicians?

AspectWaspsPest Control Technicians
CredentialsMay require specific certifications for handling wasp nestsOften require pest control licenses and certifications
Work EnvironmentOutdoor, involving nests in trees, eaves, or groundIndoor and outdoor, treating various pests including wasps
Industry UsageSpecialized in wasp removal and nest eliminationBroader role covering multiple pests including wasps

While Wasps focus specifically on removing and managing wasp nests, Pest Control Technicians handle a wide range of pests, including wasps. Both roles often require similar certifications and work in outdoor environments, but Pest Control Technicians have a broader scope of responsibilities across different pests.

What are wasps?

Wasps are a group of insects belonging to the order Hymenoptera and the suborder Apocrita, which also includes bees and ants. They are known for their slender bodies, narrow waists, and, in many species, the ability to sting. Wasps can be solitary or social, with some species building nests and living in colonies. While some wasps are considered pests, many are beneficial as they help control other insect populations and pollinate plants.

What jobs do wasps have?

Wasps are insects and do not have jobs. They play roles in ecosystems as pollinators and predators of pest insects. Their activities help control pest populations and support plant pollination.

What jobs will be eliminated in the next 10 years?

Jobs related to manual data entry, routine manufacturing, and certain administrative roles are expected to decline due to automation and AI advancements. Wasp-related jobs, such as pest control technicians, are less likely to be eliminated but may see changes with increased use of technology and integrated pest management tools. Adaptation to new skills and technology will be important for job security in evolving fields.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

High-paying jobs that can pay around $2,000 a day typically include specialized roles such as surgeons, anesthesiologists, corporate lawyers, and certain executive positions. These jobs often require advanced education, certifications, extensive experience, and work in high-stakes or high-demand environments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Pest Control Technician, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Pest Control Technician, you need knowledge of pest biology, safe chemical handling, and typically a high school diploma with relevant state certification or licensure. Familiarity with application equipment, integrated pest management (IPM) systems, and safety protocols is essential. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and good communication help technicians assess infestations and reassure clients. These skills ensure effective pest management, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction.
