What jobs do wasps have?

Wasps are insects that do not have jobs in the human sense; instead, they perform roles within their colonies such as workers, queens, or males. Worker wasps gather food, defend the colony, and care for the young, while queens lay eggs and establish new colonies. These roles are determined by their biological caste and are essential for colony survival.

What are wasps?

Wasps are a diverse group of insects belonging to the order Hymenoptera, which also includes bees and ants. Unlike bees, many wasp species are predatory or parasitic, and they play important roles in ecosystems by controlling pest populations and pollinating plants. Wasps can be solitary or social, with social wasps such as yellowjackets and hornets living in colonies. While some wasps can sting and may be aggressive when threatened, they are generally not dangerous unless provoked.

Job description

Pest Control Supervisor - F1 Licensed (Year-Round Position)
We get it. You have options when it comes to finding a new career. When you put on our uniform, you become part of the family-a group of people committed to excellent customer service and passionate about making homes and properties safe, comfortable, and pest-free all year long.
This isn't just any supervisor role-this is your chance to lead the charge!
Already have your F1 and F2 licenses? Perfect! You're exactly who we're looking for. If you've been in the pest control trenches and are ready to step up and lead a team year-round, this is your moment.
This job is perfect for someone who loves variety, knows their way around all types of pests, and wants to inspire a crew to be the best!
Year-round work means year-round income and stability. From mosquitoes and ticks in the spring and summer to rodents and overwintering pests in the fall and winter, you'll never be bored. Every season brings new challenges and opportunities to be the neighborhood hero.
We're not your typical pest control company. We tackle it all-from outdoor pests like mosquitoes, ticks, wasps, and fleas to indoor invaders like ants, rodents, spiders, and more. You'll work in a variety of environments, keep your skills sharp, and lead a team that makes a real difference in people's lives.
This truly is one of the best pest control supervisor jobs in New Hampshire, and if you are ready to lead from the front, work year-round solving problems, and love developing people, apply today! You could be the neighborhood hero who builds more heroes!
Your Mission if You Choose to Accept It - Responsibilities as a Pest Control Supervisor...
Leading the Charge - You're the captain of this pest-fighting operation! You'll lead, train, and motivate your team of technicians to wage war on everything from mosquitoes and ticks to rodents, ants, wasps, spiders, and more.
Training & Development - You'll be responsible for training new technicians on proper application techniques, integrated pest management (IPM), safety protocols, and industry best practices. Help them get licensed and watch them grow into pest control pros.
Quality Control - You ensure every treatment is done right the first time. You'll conduct field inspections, ride-alongs, and quality checks across all service types-whether it's a mosquito treatment, rodent exclusion, or ant control-to make sure we're delivering unforgettable service every single time.
Doing It with Style - As a leader representing our brand, you bring professionalism while fostering a fun, positive team culture. You go above and beyond to deliver an unforgettable customer service experience.
Scheduling & Logistics - You'll help coordinate daily routes for multiple service types, manage appointments across your team, and ensure everyone has the right supplies and equipment for each job-from backpack sprayers to rodent traps to wasp suits.
Problem Solving - When challenges arise (and they will), you're the go-to person. Whether it's a persistent rodent issue, a massive wasp nest, a customer concern, or a team question, you handle it with confidence and creativity.
Safety First - You're responsible for ensuring all team members follow safety protocols, use protective equipment properly, and comply with all New Hampshire state regulations and licensing requirements.
Seasonal Adaptation - You'll shift focus as the seasons change. Spring and summer mean mosquitoes, ticks, and stinging insects. Fall means overwintering pest prevention and rodent control. Winter means indoor pest management and preparing for the busy season ahead.
Communicating with the Local Office - You're the bridge between the field crew and management. This is key for making sure everyone has what they need and that operations run smoothly year-round!
This Pest Control Supervisor Job is For You If...
• You love variety and year-round work with consistent income.
• You have your F1 supervisor licenses (required in New Hampshire).
• You're a natural leader who enjoys coaching and developing people.
• You enjoy working both outdoors and indoors depending on the pest and season.
• You're adaptable. Summer means outdoor treatments and physical work. Winter means problem-solving indoor pest issues and preparing equipment for spring.
• You value both independence and teamwork. You'll work autonomously while building a tight-knit crew.
• You have experience in pest control covering multiple pest categories (mosquitoes, rodents, ants, wasps, etc.).
• You want year-round employment, not just seasonal work.
To Succeed in this Role as a Pest Control Supervisor...
Lead by Example - Your team looks up to you. Show them what professionalism, hard work, and a great attitude look like every single day, in every season.
Be a Great Teacher - You'll train new technicians on proper techniques for all pest types, safety, and customer service. Take this seriously and watch your team thrive.
Stay Organized - You're juggling schedules, quality checks, training sessions, equipment maintenance, and more across multiple service lines. Strong organizational skills are a must.
Maintain High Standards - Don't accept "good enough." You want every customer thrilled and every treatment done perfectly-whether it's mosquitoes in July or mice in January.
Embrace All Weather - Rain, snow, heat, or cold-pests don't take days off, and neither do we. Lead your team through whatever Mother Nature throws at you.
Think Observantly and Creatively - Every property and pest situation is unique. Use your experience to assess problems and develop effective, customized solutions.
Stay Current - Keep up with the latest pest control techniques, products, and regulations. The industry evolves, and so should you.
Communicate Clearly - Keep the office informed, keep your team motivated, and keep customers happy with excellent communication skills.
Job Requirements...
There are a few minimum requirements for our Pest Control Supervisor:
Must hold valid F1 and F2 Supervisor licenses in the state of New Hampshire (This is non-negotiable!)
• Must be able to lift and carry equipment up to 70 lbs. (Backpack sprayers, ladders, traps, etc.)
• Must be comfortable working in various environments-attics, crawl spaces, basements, outdoors, and at heights when necessary.
• Must wear protective gear and a uniform. (Safety first, and you'll look professional doing it.)
• Must be able to handle seasonal weather extremes-from summer heat to winter cold.
• Must have proven experience in pest control covering multiple pest categories.
• Must have excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must be willing to obtain additional certifications as needed.
• And finally, you must not have moral qualms about leading a team of year-round pest assassins!
Benefits & Pay...
The pay range for this position is $26 to $32 per hour and depends on your experience, leadership track record, and qualifications.
What we have to offer:
Year-Round Employment - Steady work and consistent income throughout all four seasons.
No Nights or Weekends - Work hard during the week so that you can enjoy evenings and weekends with your friends and family.
Leadership Opportunities - Grow your career, develop your team, and make a real impact on the business.
Great Perks - Enjoy access to a company vehicle, earn bonuses and recognition for outstanding performance, and enjoy team incentives.
Professional Development - Continue your education, stay current on the latest pest control techniques and regulations, and advance your career.
Fun Work Environment - We are committed to solving problems and protecting homes. If you like to work hard, lead others, and make a difference, this is the place for you.
We are looking to hire experienced leaders who share our passion for fighting all types of pests year-round. If that is you, apply today to join our team as a supervisor who protects homes, businesses, and families from pests AND builds an awesome team. If you meet the requirements for the position, our system will schedule you for an interview immediately.
