Job description

Purchases material and equipment for warrant department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain professional relationship with, Warrant staff, other county employees, and public at large. Prepares and maintains all related reports, files, and records for the Commissioners Court and Judges.

Prepare and maintain the general operation of the department and departmental budget. Interviews defendants, investigates, evaluates, and verifies applications for extension of time for payment of fines and/or court costs. Grants or denies an application based on defendant's financial resources.

Determines payment schedule if extension of time for payment is granted. Stays aware of all laws that pertain to the collections of court ordered fines and fees. May serve warrants and make arrests.

Performs related work, as required. Confirm validity of warrant and fine amount; also validity of contact information once found. Subject to call out after 5 pm, weekends and holidays to confirm warrants.

Locate offender through TWC, accurint, TDC, white pages, BOP, and Spillman websites. Assist office in taking payments and removing warrants. Daily activity reports and updating I-plow information on warrants.

Liaison between all county offices, I-PLOW administrator, and court administration, as well as workforce solutions for temporary staff. Maintain and order office materials and supplies; keeps office inventory. Submit invoices for payment, requisitions, and fixed assets.

Must maintain County equipment Must handle difficult public contact situations that require diplomacy, tact, and negotiation skills. Regular and timely attendance is required Qualifications, Education, and/or experience To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a clean record free of any arrest and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must have a minimum of two years experience in supervisory management. High school diploma or equivalent.

Some college preferred. Texas Peace Officers license, valid Texas driver's license with an insurable driving record. Must be insurable by agency insurance carrier.

Knowledge, Skills and/or ability Must have a broad knowledge in court proceedings and processes, collections techniques, and customer service. Must have working knowledge of computer programs an office procedures. Computer knowledge, common sense, Texas penal code, code of criminal procedure, and supervisory and management knowledge.

Knowledge of collections/accounts receivables, working with automated collections systems. Operate computers; read reports, letters, and memos; communicate effectively, both in person and over the phone; and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and other law enforcement personnel. Operate vehicle, police radio, learn proper terminology for communicating with LE communications personnel, and time management skills.

Need to have the ability to multi-task on tedious exacting work with a high level of accuracy.
