As a Transportation Manager you will lead planning, routing and oversight of Ascentek's transportation operations. You will direct supervisorsand drivers to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective deliveries while maintaining compliance with DOT, OSHA and HAZMAT regulations. Success in this role requires strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to develop high-performing teams. Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Hire, train and retain supervisors and drivers to build a strong transportation team
  • Develop and maintain performance metrics to drive operational results
  • Monitor compliance with company policies, safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Lead ongoing evaluations and annual performance reviews for transportation staff
  • Guide, plan, organize and motivate team members to achieve goals and deliver results
  • Improve delivery efficiency and reduce transportation costs through process improvements
  • Partner with leaders across the business to align policies and objectives
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally
  • Analyze financial data to manage expenses and ensure alignment with approved budgets
  • Drive analytics and KPI development to track transportation performance
  • Ensure fleet operations are supported by effective maintenance programs
  • Promote collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement within the transportation team
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Education: High school diploma or GED

Preferred Experience and/or Training:

  • 5-7 years of prior transportation management experience
  • Experience managing fleet maintenance programs
  • Strong working knowledge of DOT, HAZMAT and OSHA regulations
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and problem solve in a fast-paced environment
  • Good judgment and decision-making with critical thinking abilities
  • Experience in wholesale distribution preferred
  • Knowledge of warehousing and inventory control a plus

Experience and/or Training:

  • Technical or college education preferred
  • Experience in fleet management within wholesale distribution
  • Formal training in transportation safety or compliance programs
  • Background in inventory and warehouse integration with transportation operations
  • Frequent sitting, standing and walking with regular use of hands for computer and paperwork
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally
  • Strong reasoning, communication and problem-solving skills required to manage complex operations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-paced environment
  • Primarily office-based with frequent interaction with warehouse settings
  • Exposure to noise and activity typical of a transportation and distribution environment

The anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $92,026 and $117,235 annually. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below:
