Shipping & Receiving Associate (1st & 2nd Shift)

Pay: Up to $22.00 per hour (based on experience)

Location: Newark, Delaware

Schedule: Full-Time

Available Shifts:

  • 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
Position Summary

DuHadaway Tool & Die Shop, Inc.is seeking dependable, motivated Shipping & Receiving Associates to join our team on both 1st and 2nd shifts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform shipping and receiving functions safely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Load, unload, inspect, verify, and organize incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Clean containers and components by removing debris and contaminants prior to shipment or processing.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, pickup trucks, company vans, and overhead cranes (as trained) to safely transport materials throughout the facility.
  • Prepare shipments by packaging, crating, labeling, and securing materials for transportation.
  • Build and repair shipping crates using basic carpentry techniques and hand and power tools.
  • Complete shipping documentation, receiving records, bills of lading, and other required paperwork accurately.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by assisting with inventory transactions, material movement, cycle counts, and organization of inventory locations.
  • Inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies and report concerns promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with production, quality, purchasing, and other departments to ensure timely delivery of materials and customer shipments.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas while following all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow verbal and written work instructions while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Work overtime as needed to support production schedules and customer requirements.
Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have:

  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics experience preferred.
  • Previous forklift experience preferred; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
  • Basic carpentry skills with experience using hand and power tools.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to accurately complete shipping paperwork and maintain legible documentation.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory and shipping transactions preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Reliable attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment physical, lift assessment, and drug screening.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds independently; heavier items moved using forklifts, overhead cranes, or other lifting equipment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment and moving materials.
