Job description

Position Overview
Shipping and Receiving personnel are responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and shipment of products within the warehouse, ensuring the accurate receipt, handling, and distribution of electric motors, drives, and related components. This role operates stand-up reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, and other material handling equipment to load, unload, receive, store, pick, pack, and ship products. The position also coordinates shipments with carriers, maintains accurate shipping and inventory records, and supports a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse through routine housekeeping and adherence to company policies and quality standards.
What skills are required?
  • Attention to Detail – Ability to accurately verify shipments, record serial numbers, inspect incoming materials, and ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped correctly.
  • Material Handling Equipment Operation – Proficiency in safely operating stand-up reach trucks, counterbalance forklifts, and other warehouse equipment while following established safety procedures.
  • Organization and Time Management – Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple shipping and receiving activities, maintain organized inventory locations, and meet operational deadlines in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Microsoft Outlook proficiency is a must.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a permanent basis and must not require current or future employment sponsorship. 
What would my main duties be?
  • Pull, pack, and ship motors, parts, and drives.
  • Call carriers, book shipments, complete shipping paperwork, and record serial numbers.
  • Load and unload straight trucks, enclosed vans, flat decks, sea cans, and other delivery equipment.
  • Unload materials from delivery equipment and inspect for visual damage.
  • Open boxes, break down skids, and verify material counts against packing lists to identify shortages.
  • Store materials in designated warehouse locations and record storage locations for retrieval.
  • Work with Purchasing to resolve material discrepancies and receiving issues.
  • Operate an engraving machine to create nameplates and tags and install them on motors as required.
  • Assist front office staff by retrieving file boxes from warehouse racking and archiving materials as needed.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties, including sweeping and removing banding.
  • Participate in the after-hours phone rotation for emergency shipments.
  • Comply with all applicable Company policies and procedures.
  • Incorporate the Company's Standards of Excellence (Pride, Desire, Teamwork, Attention to Detail, and Follow-through) into daily activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and zero to two years of related receiving stores, shipping, or warehousing activity experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
