Job description

Position: Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Employment Type: Full-Time

Employment Class: Hourly/Non-Exempt

Benefit Package: Full

Supervisor: Buyer/Inventory Manager


Job Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will receive parts and products from vendors, ensuring an accurate count before labeling and placing on inventory shelves or overstock locations. This person will communicate with vendors on various projects, when necessary, i.e. shipments are damaged or not correctly fulfilled. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will close Manufacturing Orders and fulfill Sales Orders in the ERP system for all customers, creating the need to have knowledge in several different shipping systems. This person will oversee shipping products to customers, including packaging and preparing the boxes and harnesses for shipment, creating shipping labels, advance shipping notices within the John Deere system, and scheduling pickup, including regular driver and LTL freight.
