Location: Brewton, AL

Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Shipping and Inventory Specialist Position Summary


The Shipping and Inventory Specialist supports the efficient flow of materials through Frontier Technologies by coordinating shipping, receiving, inventory control, documentation, and material movement activities. This position helps ensure incoming materials are accurately received, verified, recorded, labeled, and placed in the appropriate locations, while outgoing shipments are properly prepared, packaged, documented, and shipped according to customer, quality, safety, and company requirements. This role serves as a key link between Shipping, Receiving, Inventory, Quality, Logistics, Procurement, Production, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable. The Shipping and Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, communicating shortages or discrepancies, supporting cycle counts, and helping ensure customers receive the right products on time and in excellent condition. Frontier Technologies operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 


Shipping and Inventory Specialist Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


• Receive incoming raw materials, sourced materials, parts, kits, and finished goods; verify contents against purchase orders, packing lists, work orders, inventory logs and other required documentation.

• Accurately enter receiving, inventory, and shipping information into the MRP, inventory, shipping, or order processing systems in accordance with company procedures.

• Downstack, inspect, count, label, allocate, and stage incoming materials to designated inventory locations, production areas, or shipment staging areas as required.

• Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, palletizing, wrapping, and verifying materials to ensure safe and secure transportation.




• Create labels for part-marking prior to shipping.

• Coordinate with Quality Control prior to shipment to support inspection requirements, pictures, documentation accuracy, and on-time delivery expectations.

• Maintain accurate inventory records by performing cycle counts, occasional audits, spot checks, and inventory VMI reviews.

• Research, communicate, and help resolve inventory discrepancies, receiving variances, shortages, miscounts, non-conforming material reports , and process issues with Inventory, Procurement, Planning, Quality, AP, AR, Logistics, and Production teams.

• Communicate with Logistics manager as main liaison to schedule internal fleet pickups, customer deliveries, third-party logistics, and shipment tracking as needed; 

• Order and maintain shipping supplies such as pallets, boxes, tape, labels, and shrink wrap to support daily shipping operations.

• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other approved warehouse or material handling equipment to move materials throughout the facility and the laydown yard. 

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe receiving, shipping, inventory, and lay down yard in accordance with company expectations.

• Follow all company policies, safety protocols, warehouse procedures, quality standards, and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements while performing assigned work.

• Support process improvements that improve inventory accuracy, material flow, shipping efficiency, documentation quality, and customer satisfaction.

• Create PO’s in MRP system for shipping and facility supplies and parts.

• Assist with other warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory, and production support tasks as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Manager, Shipping Lead, General Manager, or designated leadership.


Shipping and Inventory Specialist Basic Qualifications


• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

• Previous warehouse, shipping, or inventory, experience. 

• Ability to read and follow work instructions, purchase orders, packing lists, shipping documents, job orders, and routine reports.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counting, data entry, recordkeeping, labeling, and documentation.

• Basic math skills with the ability to perform calculations needed for counts, quantities, measurements, and inventory transactions.

• Basic computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications, spreadsheets, inventory systems, shipping systems, order processing systems, or MRP/ERP software.

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers, managers, drivers, logistics providers, customers, and internal departments.

• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while adapting to changing customer, production, and shipping priorities.

• Ability to safely operate or become certified to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other approved material handling equipment.

• Ability to work overtime, weekends, or after-hours as required to support business needs.

• Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations and perform physical warehouse tasks including standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, reaching, climbing, pulling, loading, unloading, and working in South Alabama climate conditions.

Shipping and Inventory Specialist Preferred Qualifications



• Experience performing cycle counts, audits, inventory reconciliation, receiving discrepancy resolution, and process improvements.

• Experience preparing bills of lading, packing lists, labels, shipment folders, and other shipping documentation.

• Experience working with raw materials such as metals, wood, assemblies, kits, or fabricated components.

• Excellent attendance record and demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while supporting a team environment.
