Description
The Project Engineer - Warehouse Rack Design & Permitting supports the design, documentation, and permitting of warehouse racking systems. Working under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers, this role assists with drawing reviews, engineering documentation, and submittals to local jurisdictions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and interested in warehouse infrastructure, rack systems, and California permitting workflows.
Requirements
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist with reviewing warehouse rack layouts, load information, and anchorage details
  • Support coordination between rack drawings and architectural or structural plans
  • Help assemble engineering calculation packages prepared by licensed Professional Engineers
  • Maintain rack design documentation, submittals, and revision logs
  • Perform basic checks for completeness and consistency of engineering documents
  • Prepare permit application packages for warehouse racking installations
  • Submit plans to local jurisdictions and track plan check status
  • Log and distribute plan check comments to internal teams and consultants
  • Assist with resubmittals and document revisions
  • Maintain organized permit and inspection records
  • Support Project Managers and Senior Engineers with technical documentation needs
  • Participate in internal coordination meetings related to rack design and permitting
  • Respond to basic RFIs and field questions with guidance from senior staff
  • Help track engineering and permitting schedules

Education and Experience:
