Job description

Warehouse receiving team member will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Receiving department, including administrative and clerical functions, to ensure efficient operations and a safe working environment. This position reports directly to the Division Manager. The hours for this position are 5AM-1:30PM.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Day-to-day operations of the receiving department, ensure that established objectives for receiving, product rotation; sanitation, safety, and timeliness are met or exceeded.
  • Monitors receiving times and makes appropriate changes for efficiency and timeliness of unloading.
  • Routinely informs and communicates with the other receiving team members to ensure compliance with established warehouse productivity, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Computer-based and manual reports and related paperwork, including time records, receipt of goods, and safefood360.
  • Assure proper quantities, lot numbers, and date codes are correct for each product received.
  • Assist in cleaning the warehouse area and equipment by sweeping, mopping, and removing debris.
  • Load and unload items from machines, carts, and dollies.
  • Communicates regularly with management.
  • Champion the Company's Vision, Mission, and Core Values in every action and decision.
  • Adheres to all safety guidelines and Standards of performance (SOPs, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points-HACCP).
  • Performs other related and assigned duties to support the processes of the warehouse.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience. Previous experience in a distribution environment is preferred.
  • Relevant safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Storage and shipment of food products.
  • Food and material handling.
  • Inventory control concepts and techniques.
  • Barcoding and Company computer systems.
  • Warehouse racking systems/processes.
  • Interpret warehouse operations variances and identify appropriate solutions.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Frequently required to stand; walk; use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; and to talk; or hear. Ability to lift and/ or move more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color, and depth vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
