Job Summary:

The Warehouse Order Selector is responsible for accurately selecting, labeling, palletizing, and staging customer orders in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position operates manual pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks to safely transport products from warehouse racking to dock locations. Compensation is based on productivity and accuracy, measured by cases selected and error rates-not time spent in the warehouse.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Hand-select customer orders within Dry, Cooler (approx. 32F), and Freezer (down to -6F) warehouse environments.
  • Locate products using warehouse slotting systems and visually verify products against pick labels.
  • Accurately place pick labels on product.
  • Stack and palletize product according to company procedures, including:
  • Proper weight distribution (no heavy-on-light stacking)
  • Allergen separation
  • Product separation (e.g., chemicals and raw proteins)
  • Labels facing outward.
  • Operate manual pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks to transport product safely.
  • Shrink-wrap completed pallets and stage them at correct dock locations for loading.
  • Maintain productivity and accuracy standards, including cases-per-hour and cases-per-error goals.
  • Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment and safely use all required PPE.
  • Follow all sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety policies; immediately report unsafe conditions or injuries.
  • Work efficiently at a steady pace for the entire shift in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform other warehouse-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to meet or exceed established productivity and accuracy standards.
  • Basic reading and math skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively, including understanding safety regulations.
  • Ability to work in fluctuating temperatures, wet surfaces, and moderate to high noise levels.
  • Ability to learn and apply product handling, placement, and inventory control practices. Must successfully complete and pass forklift certification.

Education and Experience:

  • Prior experience operating an electric pallet jack or forklift preferred.
  • Prior warehouse or food service industry experience preferred but not required.
  • Order Selector experience is a plus but not required (training provided).

Physical Requirements:ย 

Position requires standing for long periods of time, walk, frequent lifting of material up to 100 pounds and frequent twisting, turning, reaching, pushing and pulling use hands to finger, grasp objects occasionally, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs, balance; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear.
