New West Distributing is looking for a Warehouse Order Picker.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

A Warehouse Order Picker is responsible for accurately selecting, preparing, and organizing customer orders for shipment within a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to safely handle products while meeting productivity and quality standards. Order Pickers utilize picking systems, scanners, and warehouse equipment to ensure orders are completed accurately and on schedule while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.


Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Follows safety procedures in accordance with New West Safety Standards.
  • Quality check of all pallets and product pulled by the Warehouse pick team.
  • Must have forklift knowledge while demonstrating safe forklift procedures.
  • Replenishment of product on the pick line using an RF gun when needed.
  • Able to load and unload pallets of product onto or off a trailer using a licenses plate that coincides with the correct route and placement in trailer.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment: Daily inspection of forklift and automated wrap machine.
  • Occasionally may be asked to perform tasks other than shipping: Pick orders, repack, etc.

Physical Demands

Physical demands include, but are not limited to:

  • Unloading product from above your head
  • Handle cases of product 500 to 2500 times per day
  • Ability to lift and move a half barrel (165 lbs.)
  • Able to pick up, and move Product for a 10 to 12 hour shift
  • Walking long distances for long periods of time

Requirements:
  • Ability to organize and prioritize, maintain attention to detail, and work under critical timeframes.
  • Ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, of merchandisers, salesman, managers.
  • Customer service experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Experience working in a team environment (cooperating with co-workers, joint problem solving.)
  • Computer skills, i.e. Excel, Word.
