Job description

This worker must be forklift certified and able to load trucks safely with minimal supervision. This associate's sole responsibility will be moving materials and loading trucks.
SUMMARY
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for unloading of raw materials and loading of finished
goods, maintaining warehouse inventories, and is also responsible for running the shipping office
when the supervisor is unavailable. This position reports to the Shipping/Warehouse Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The primary duties of the Warehouse Tech consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Warehouse & Inventory Maintenance
• Maintain warehouse inventory so as to best utilize available space
• Check condition and weight of incoming material
• Maintain warehouse and inventory in clean, neat orderly condition
• Ensure products are stored in a safe manner
• Rotate stock of products, especially products with shelf life
• Ensure correct pallet stacking procedures are followed (i.e. securing pallets
with bands, tape, or stretch wrap for any pallet stacked above the second
level, etc.) to prevent damage or accidents
2. Shipping Duties
• Load and unload all trucks coming into warehouse
• Prepare products for shipping (mixing pallets, etc.)
• Maintain forklift log
3. Backup the Shipping Warehouse Supervisor as requested and during absences
• Receive shipping orders and ensure that they are prepared for shipment
• Improve and maintain order accuracy through correct paperwork processes,
researching and resolving problems, and implementing corrective procedures
• Ensure records of all shipments are accurately maintained
• Track and maintain accurate inventory of warehouses; research variances and
resolve discrepancies
• Perform visual inspection of the warehouse daily to ensure that inventory is
appropriately maintained to prevent damage or leakage
4. Safety
• Comply with all safety regulations and policies
• Ensure trucks are properly secured prior to loading (per Siplast requirements)
• Utilize all prescribed PPE (personal protective equipment), at all times in
designated areas (such as safety glasses, welding hoods, gloves, cutting
goggles, respirators, shoes, vests, etc.)
