Job description

The Common Market is a nonprofit distributor of local foods. Our mission is to strengthen regional farms while making the local bounty accessible to communities and the institutions that serve them.

We are currently seeking a Seasonal Warehouse Associate through December 1st to join our team. As a Seasonal Warehouse Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting our warehouse operations by receiving, picking & packing, sorting, loading, and unloading products. You will also be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Process, package, and ship orders accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain inventory records and participate in regular inventory checks
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for quality and compliance
  • Organize and maintain the distribution and storage area in the warehouse
  • Receive, unload, and properly store incoming inventory items
  • Check and verify customer invoices
  • Adhere to all company safety and hygiene regulations
  • Suggest and implement improvements to warehouse procedures
  • Keep the warehouse clean and organized

Requirements

    • Schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays from 12:00pm -7:00pm, and Sundays from 7:00am-12:00pm.
    • At least 3 years of experience in warehouse operations
    • Strong knowledge of inventory management and control
    • Experience in the food industry and knowledge of food safety practices
    • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as hand trucks and pallet jacks
    • Forklift certification is a plus
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
    • Good communication and teamwork skills
    • Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems
    • Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds
    • Availability to work weekends if needed
