About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Distribution Associate to support warehouse and distribution operations for a growing industrial organization in Champaign, Illinois. This position plays a key role in ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, handling, and shipment of products while maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment.

This is a hands-on role ideal for candidates with warehouse, shipping & receiving, inventory, logistics, or distribution experience who are looking for long-term career stability and growth opportunities.

The Distribution Associate will work closely with warehouse personnel, inventory teams, and logistics coordinators to support daily operational goals, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing slips, purchase orders, and shipping documentation
  • Accurately organize and store materials in designated warehouse locations to maximize efficiency and accessibility
  • Pick, pack, stage, and prepare outgoing orders according to customer specifications and company standards
  • Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
  • Perform inventory cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records within warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP systems
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks while ensuring proper material handling procedures are followed
  • Coordinate with shipping, receiving, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure timely movement of products
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall warehouse safety standards
  • Follow OSHA regulations, company safety protocols, and operational procedures at all times
  • Identify inventory discrepancies, damaged products, or shipment issues and communicate findings to supervisors
  • Support general warehouse operations and additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in warehouse, distribution, shipping & receiving, logistics, or material handling environments preferred
  • Ability to lift, move, push, and pull materials up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment while maintaining accuracy
  • Basic computer and data entry skills
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Forklift experience and/or forklift certification preferred
  • Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory systems, or ERP software
  • Knowledge of inventory control procedures and cycle counting
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial distribution, logistics, or supply chain environments
