Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse environment. Your expertise in warehouse distribution, order picking, and materials handling will ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of goods. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced logistics operation while maintaining safety standards and supporting overall warehouse management.

Forklift Operator Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and other heavy equipment to load and unload shipments
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders accurately using RF scanners and warehouse management systems
  • Load and unload materials from trucks using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks and clamp trucks
  • Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying inbound and outbound shipments
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure mechanical safety and proper functioning in compliance with OSHA standards
  • Support warehouse distribution activities by managing materials handling tasks efficiently
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage space and improve workflow processes

Forklift Operator Requirements

  • Proven experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment in a warehouse or construction setting
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse distribution, order picking, shipping & receiving procedures, and materials handling techniques
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety protocols
  • Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management systems for order picking and inventory control
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods
  • Warehouse or warehouse supervisor experience is a plus for understanding overall operations
  • Valid certification for forklift operation; additional certifications for crane or clamp truck operation are advantageous
