Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the supervisor or lead agent, the warehouse mail agent is responsible for hauling, moving, loading, unloading, sorting, examining, securing, documenting the arrival, sortation, and distribution of U.S. postal mail.
  • Drives motorized equipment (tug, forklift, etc.) to move a variety of conveyances to the appropriate location within the warehouse.
  • Retrieves and unloads mail distributing accordingly Read mail codes, sorting mail for loading into outbound/local conveyances.
  • Uses scan gun to record mail received/distributed. Matching manifests and conveyances, delivers sorted mail to appropriate location.
Requirements
  • Must pass a background check and drug test upon receiving an offer.
  • Must be at least 18 years or older High school diploma or GED required.
Physical Demands/Requirements
  • Must be able to lift / carry / push / pull and move items of 70 pounds and/or more on a regular basis and repetitively lift weights of 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces.
  • Must be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop on a frequent basis and for extended periods.
  • Note: Depending upon the location, a few various positions may exist within the mail operation. The tasks listed below may/may not be performed in each of those positions. Other duties may occur and will be assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
