Job description

Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday
  • 12:00pm - 8:30pm

As a Value-Added Services I team member at Crescent Electric, you will support the Value-Added Services (VAS) team by performing VAS functions using a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and precision.
Primary Duties:
  • Perform wire cutting using reel-to-reel and coiler machines.
  • Conduct order kitting and sub-assembly operations to customer specification. Ensure transaction accuracy.
  • Set up and perform parallels.
  • Receive, pick, relocate, and put away wire and pipe. Load pipe on trucks for delivery.
  • Complete certification to perform Pulling Heads, if required by manufacturer.
  • Assist with warehouse activities utilizing a RF scanner to, pick, pack, ship, receive, put-away, cycle count, inventory, and process outbound audits, as needed.
  • Coordinate with supervisor or manager on all value-added services activities and performance.
  • Proactively problem solve issues.
  • Utilize various pieces of material handling equipment (MHE) including pallet movers, sit down and stand up forklifts, high lift reach trucks, and order picker.
  • Maintain the warehouse so it is clean, organized, and safe for all employees.

Skills:
  • Reading and understanding cut tags and cut comments.
  • Utilizing, or learn to use, all necessary computer software and industrial equipment.
  • Verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet minimum productivity standards.
  • Ability to be reliable, open to change, and adaptable.
  • Ability to understand and follow general and/or written instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics and arithmetic.
  • Ability to use contemporary merchandise processing equipment, such as hand-held scanners.
  • Ability to use warehouse equipment and inventory systems.

Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification. 1+ years of experience using a stand-up reach forklift, power pallet jacks, cherry picker, and sit-down forklift.
  • 1+ years of warehouse experience.
  • 1+ years of experience working in a wire cutting, CNC, machine operator, and/or production capacity, preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse terminology and practices.

Physical Demands:
Often standing, walking, bending, reaching, and stooping. Occasional sitting, talking/hearing. The use of hands/fingers are often needed.
  • Ability to and comfort with working at heights of up to 28 ft. using powered equipment.
  • Continuous lifting and carrying of 1-20 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of 21-50 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of 51-100 lbs. with the assistance of a buddy-lift or a mechanical device.

Vision requirements for driving equipment and company vehicles include:
  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
  • Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).
  • Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point).
  • Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships).
